2010 Rolex 24h at Daytona

The rolex 24 is coming up in a few weeks. Anyone attend any of the testing this weekend or is anyone going to the race?

I am pumped to see the Stevenson Camaros and the Turner M6s. Looking at the entry list though, and the field seems much smaller than last year. Looks like Farnbacher will not be running any Porsches when last year they ran 5. Oh well should be a great race as always

I'm looking forward to seeing the two new SpeedSource cars! This year's race will be great!!!!!

Why is Montoya in the No. 2 car this year? 2 wins and a 2nd out of 3 not good enough to keep the group together?

This is just testing. The driver lineups in the cars don't mean a whole lot for some teams.

That would be because Greg Loles was charged with bigtime embezzlement and the shop was shutdown.

I'll be down there working for a team in the Continental Tire sports car challenge and possibly helping a DP team during the 24hr race. Cant wait.

I actually happened upon the practice today at 11:30. I was on my way home from Rhode Island (Yea I drove lol) And was jus plannin to show my brother the racetrack cuz he had never seen it. $20 later we're in the infield watchin practice! lol

Also noticed that Penske is not entered in the DP class. Have they closed up that team?

Yup, they're now running Will Power's Penske in IRL.

I believe that they brought the WCTC out to the final GrandAm race last year and pulled a bunch of the WC parts off to make it GA legal. Just ran it in practice to get the okay from GrandAm to do things they wanted. There's an Evo that's having the same thing done to it. It'll be out for a few test days until GrandAm give the rules some tweeking until the team is willing to invest in fully running the car.

Two buddies and I are cannonballing down with a truck and trailer Thursday night to be in Orlando on Friday mid-day to pick up a race car, then heading back up to Daytona to watch any racing/practice left on Friday night. Then we are sticking around for the 24 on Saturday and Sunday and heading home with the new car in tow as soon as the checkers fly. Can't wait.

We've got our GRM passes and I know a few guys working for various teams (drivers and crew) so we are looking to have a great time!

Love it. Did he always have that title or was that just since winning GT last year? He cleaned up at practice last weekend...hopefully he can keep the momentum up for qualifying and the race! See you down there!

Oh, and you can get $40 passes through the speedway for just the two days of the 24 (no access for quali or the Conti Challenge). Besides can't Leh hook you up?

THey had 2 cars there, though I think they may have only run one of them. One of them was probably the same car mentioned above, the secong probably a new car designed specifically around the GS rules.
