^ Is that legal?
I've seen that done before, but thought even with a cwp you had to keep firearm (unloaded) and ammo in seperate places in the car...

every states ccw law is different. thats not even considered concealed in some states in the open like that. in ohio if you dont have your ccw, you have to keep the weapon unloaded and ammo seperate. if you have your ccw, you can keep the gun on you(except were prohibited)

gotta love arizona. i have a ccw but i dont need one to conceal a gun. and we can take guns into a bar (like that's necessary) and we dont register guns and, best of all, no city is allowed to make a law that overrides a state gun law so i dont have to worry about where i'm driving.

I wish there were a table of contents for all the ideas in here so people wouldn't have to search for 3 days trying to find that one idea they like but was some time ago.

There were a few ideas that I would love to do like the obdII port relocation, push button start and I haven't seen it yet but a quick switch for the green connectors to make it easier/faster to reflash maps, that's easy though.

Eh, all the moving around in the car will probably make the officer more nervous, it's a better policy to tell the officer straight out "I have a CCW and I am carrying right now." At most, the officer will tell you to hand over your CCW with your documents, maybe he will draw too. If your honest he'll probably be a lot chiller too. Just my $.02

thanks to the DHS, cops will know if the name the car is registered under also has a carry/conceal permit, or so I've been told. Any pigs want to chime in on that?

First of all, you're a douchebag, but Im certain you get called much worse than that on a daily basis. Someone harms your property or commits an offense against you and Im sure you'll be calling the "pigs" for assistance.

Concealed Carry Laws vary from state to state but common sense should prevail here folks. If you have a concealed weapon permit, the weapon should remain just that...concealed, not in plain view. When an officer approaches you he/she has no idea who you are. Here in Florida, every other vehicle has a weapon in it (ok Im exaggerating a bit but gun laws are pretty slack here). The best thing you can do is roll your windows down, turn your dome light on, turn the music off, and inform the officer of the location of your weapon(s). Keep both hands on 10 and 2 until told otherwise. A little show of consideration for the officer's peace of mind goes a long way and guess what, the pig might offer you some courtesy in return.

Calling someone a pig is pretty condescending and rude...

How would you feel if people called you a pig because of the job you have?

Yeah, pork upsets my stomach, let's not talk about it.

Has anyone come up with a nice solution for carrying change in an 08+?

My STi has no provision for this and it drives me nuts hearing coins rattle in the handhold on the door. I was thinking of fiberglassing a little insert thingy in the lower door pocket, but am interested in hearing other ideas.

I really miss the change drawer to the left of the wheel on my WRX. Now it's just a fuse box cover. SO LAME. I need more storage.

I screwed up the change compartment in my 07 by filling it with switches. Right now, I'm just keeping coins in a small cup that I have inside the center console. Eventually, I'll probably put dividers in the center console and add a 12v outlet and relocate my aux input to there.

The new-style center console has very little room...I was thinking the same thing as you with my old car. But this one has AUX inputs and 12v outlet already in there. It's pretty packed with my ipod charger and input cable plugged in, not to mention my phone charger is stored in there along with other necessities (gum, toothpicks, vitamins, etc).

The cup idea might work. These cars have a cupholder on the door that is practically useless for anything I try to put there, so maybe I can find/fab something to fit in there instead.

I have a solo cup for loose change in the center console, toss the quarters in the ashtray for the random toll. Easier to just hand the Shriner or fireman the whole cup of change and get a new cup. It's how I sleep at night for being a douchebag calling LEO's, pigs.

As for the holster attached to the center console, I glued a nice rare earth magnet on the inside of the center console. Have a modified Blackhawk Serpa left hand holster with a thin sheetmetal strip glued to the back of it. This way when I'm not in the car no one assumes there is a pistol is in the car.

Shut. Up.

If you want to talk about guns: go to the fiving gun thread.

If you want to discuss proper and insulting nomenclatures for LEOs: start another thread.

Don't get this close because you guys can't keep on topic!

Oh look yet another bent dick, what part of my last post is off topic? My personal preference when it comes to the interior is to keep the clutter down. I don't like the idea of a permanent holster in clear view when the car is unattended, therefore a magnet to hold a modded busted poly holster. When not in use, it's tossed under the seat without the pistol.

As for the change holder, I've used laminated fiberglass panels (Spruce Specialties) to make a divider for my glove box, and center arm rest. Sprayed with rattle can bed liner to keep rattles down.
