Default GM Offering Saturn Owners $2,000 To Stay With Company

Quote:
Saturn owners and loyalists were left in the lurch last September when General Motors decided to kill off the brand following a breakdown in talks with the Penske Automotive Group, but in an attempt to heal some wounds the automaker is offering thousands of dollars in incentives to its former Saturn customers.

GM is offering up to $2,000 in incentives to Saturn owners who plan to purchase a new vehicle from one its four remaining brands: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Those owners need to have purchased their Saturn at least six months ago and do not have to trade it in to be eligible for the incentives.

The promotion started on February 2 and will run until March 31 and is applicable on certain 2009 and 2010 models. The best part is that the latest round of incentives is on top of any existing deals already on offer.

For full details of the offer, check out www.stayinthefamily.com.

So they have to sell their saturn privately or trade it in. So either they get raped on the resell, because after all who is going to buy a car that is no longer made for anywhere near blue book, or they get to trade it in, where the local car dealer can rape them on the trade...

Still GM did not have to do anything I guess.

And since its taxpayers money, sure why not hand out incentives!

$2000 is lame. Stealerships will take advantage of that and make you MSRP so you lose either way.

This is Saturn, so the games aren't quite the same.

They are GM, not dealer incentives. If the person has any clue (they bought a Saturn, so maybe not) they'd negotiate a price, then spring the 2k.

With all the crazy incentives and discounts on Saturns, I don't see how it hurts to get a new GM vehicle with the current incentives and the additional $2k.

Some of you seem to be bitter about them ridding Saturn. Just let it go already!

IMO, I think it's a smart move for GM to try and keep their customers.
