I had a previous tune @ Benchmark Tuning in Chicago. I made 292whp/336wtq on their Mustang Dyno. I believe I had a torn inlet at the time of the tune. Which was my fault. I replaced the inlet and I started having problems.

I was having some drivability problems. Including but not limited to some totally out of whack Fuel Trims.
The whole story about that can be found here:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1916420

Cory (renosubby)/ Mayhem Tuning contacted me to help. He had my MAF scaling issues fixed almost immediately! After having a look at the map I was running, he told me he was going to work on the fueling/timing and make some real power. He ended up making amazing power!

Cory does Internet Tunes as well as Road/Dyno tuning. He had my car sorted out with first revision of the map. Every revision he sent made more power and felt smoother and more responsive. He had no problem explaining to me what he was doing either.
A few revisions later via Email this is the result!

Cory's a great guy too work with! He really knows what he's doing. The car is very drivable! The transition from the part throttle stuff too all-out is really seamless. It's just smoooooth! The car feels crazy!

Long story short....Thanks Cory

DYNO Graph should be below this first post.

Here you go #'s are probably a little higher but we couldn't get a full 4th gear pull because he doesn't want another ticket
Thanks for the kind words Chris and I look forward to working with you in the future. Im trying to get him to go back to the dyno to see what #'s he is actually making on the same dyno.

lol, once you're doing 95mph.....might as well just go to 105.

Did you tune it yourself before....or was it tuned at a shop?

A before and after graph of the MAF would be fun to see.......i've graphed mine up after "pro" tunes and been like WTF is that

It was tuned at the shop Benchmark....
I got it and the MAF table wasn't touched at all for idle and cruising but the WOT was by 5-8% in a few areas!
It was very jerky at part throttle but the WOT was great. Took a look at his map and made 2 changes. One to the injector scaling and one to the whole maf table. It wasn't jerky anymore and we went from there on the fine tuning.

I think the fact that I've done like 6 or 7 4th gear WOT runs in the past few days....I feel like I'm pushin my luck a little

I'll update the post if I grow some balls and decide to go for it

That's bad ass. Everyone rags on TC.com but I got this turbo for like
$400! It seems to be doing what it's supposed to do.
You have a 2.5L so you must be spooling crazy fast too, right? I think the 7cm with the EWG is a great combo for the 2.5.

Are you on the stock motor?

i think im up ~1,500 pulls

The only time i ever got "pulled over" i was sitting on the side of the road changing the map

Cop gave me the 5th degree and made me do half of the drunk tests. He said my eyes looked bloodshot so i said yeah i was going down on your wife and she poked me in the eye.

I'm way more scared of my wife than the cops! She can put a stop to this **** anytime she wants!

That's not the case at all. He didn't seem too worried about the A/F learning or stuttering when I called him...He sent me a couple revisions of the map to try but nothing changed. Then I replaced the torn inlet and everything got worse.. it got to the point that I knew something was off.
And it'd been like 3-4 months since he tuned the car. I felt like it was my responsibility to get it figured out. Unfortunately, I don't know **** about tuning cars That's when Cory got ahold of me....and made my car very drivable and really ****ing fast

I'm not ragging on Matt or Benchmark Tuning at all. They do great tunes and make great power. They were cool guys and super nice. I believe I was tuned with a leaky inlet. That's something I should've checked before I put my car on their dyno. MAYBE that caused the scaling issues and the drivability issues. I don't know.

All I know is that the car is running better now than it was before or after.

Damn. Good stuff Chris. I knew finding that torn inlet at my house was going to lead to more problems; Glad to hear you got it figured out.

Now I need to take ride in that car

Thanks Ed... I should be giving you the credit for pushing me forward with tuning and training me in some essential areas. I couldn't have done this with out you man!
Here is the power on ed's road dyno software

*** Standard Dyno Chart Disclaimer ***

This software reads low and should be compared to the lower reading mustang dynos. Here are some proven numbers and trap speeds for reference:

Stock WRX - 155-165whp
Stock STI - 215-225whp

265-275whp - 107-108mph traps
300-310whp - 112-113mph traps
325-335whp - 115-116mph traps
380-390whp - 120-121mph traps

Thanks for the kind words, i'm glad your car is running right, and that everything is mechanically sound, a rip in the inlet can definitely cause the car to run different and cause driveability issues especially if it was small or almost non-existant when we tuned it then got larger (a possibility as to why the trims would change that much).

If there is anything else we can do to help you, let me know. Congratualtions on the great power

Matt
That's what I was thinking is maybe it was torn before the tune and got worse. Thanks for chimming in!
