txl, this doesn't help now, but I have a set of D-Specs and RCE Yellows to go on as soon as the weather breaks for spring, Group N tops all around, and 3/8" Paranoid Fab. rear strut spacers.

I've seen lots of pics of the bugeyes on RCE Blacks and Yellows, and TO ME, the rear looks like it has too much sag. heck, I think the rear sags too much as it sits stock. I think the 3/8" spacers will do a nice job. As soon as I get them on, I will post up on here for all ya'll.

POP3Y3, RCE black is supposed to drop 1.5/1" F/R, which is how much drop you get with GF210 (another very popular springs). I would love to see how your car looks with 3/8" spacers. I am sure 04+ tophat studs should be able to handle 3/8" spacers.

Please post the pictures when you get them on. I didn't think rear sags that much with RCE black springs.

i run 3/8" spacers on my blacks w/ tokicos and a WL rear strut bar. there is just enough threads to fit it snuggly. no problems after a year of running this setup...

^^^ mee too.

I'll be running either yellows or blacks too in a couple of months. IMO, spacers or lowering front camber plates are needed in either application to get the ride height even. So I think its either blacks with front lowering camber plates or yellows with year spacers (or blacks with rear spacers). I think blacks with front lowering plates is a perfect setup but the plates are not cheap so running the blacks with a rear spacer and comp-c's up front is probably the best set up. Plus you get that extra precious shock travel and dynamics by not being too low. For the most part, yellows w/rear spacers = blacks w/front lowering plates as far as ride height is concerned. However, you won't get that extra damper travel with the yellows and the ride would be harsher.

Love to see that. I wonder if anyone has done the same but with 1/4" spacers?

Just installed rear RCE black/D-spec with 1/4" shim.

For comparison: Blue Prodrive Springs:

With Cusco rear strut bar and 1/4" shim, there was barely enough thread left.

Front struts haven't been installed yet as I'm still waiting for new bumpstops. Will post pictures when fronts are in.

I finally installed RCE front springs today. Hope it settles and drops more as there is a lot more gap in the front compared to rear (w/ 1/4" shim).

Will post picture tomorrow...

For those with RCE black, can you find out how many fingers you can fit in the front fender gap?

Its going to take about a full week of driving and such for the springs to finally settle... That happened to my gf210's, my yellows, and even my coilovers... Just wait a little bit it will get a little lower each day.

sxcobraz, how do you like GF210? I bought them as a spare, but haven't tried them yet. GF210 and RCE black have identical drop of 1.5/1".

Umm in my opinion i would stay with the RCE if they are the same drop... The tanabes were good but after driving them through New York winter the salt and sand that got in between the springs started eating away at the coating on the springs i didnt like that.

I just think the RCE is a better quality product (and possibly better spring rates??). My Yellows drive real great with the dspecs and this winter was the worst i have ever seen and they are holding up just great.

Also if you are making 301whp i think the tanabes will be too soft for you. I know when i had them on the at car high speeds it was a little too fluffy for me..
