How come it's so hard to cast new TS housing? Thus eliminating the need to send in old VF37 hot side.

Tomei is making brand new TS 20g type turbos.

EDM 2.5 STI
had VF36 installed on it, then we put tomei TS turbo
WG duties are very high, and it became much more lagier than we expected.... mid and high are stronger of course
still dialing it in trying to get some of that low end torque back

dude start a thread, get on it asap, lol.

Post old logs of vf36 <-- i'm sorta jealous, but not as bad as if you had a vf42.

Then post new logs, do airboy dyno with old logs and new logs. The TS nasioc community needs this info

I really don't feel like opening a half-baked thread, since it will lack a lot of info, and don't want to hijack the thread, so if anyone wishes the log, just pm me with your email and I will send it to you

If you want ppl to spend the kind of money you guys are asking for this turbo, then at least make it big enough to be worth it.

You guys should have twinscrolled your Dom 4 XT-R turbo :P

I disagree, most guys who want this turbo would keep the TMIC setup to min lag for daily driving, a TS 20g is what ive been looking forward to.

Thing is I pm'd Blouch about the turbo. The TS-20g is a new casting and Journal Bearing. But this thread was to inform us of a new Ball-Bearing design. The BB turbo was a machined out VF37, BB CHRA and a 47 lbs/min compressor but they never spoke of it again??

There are a plethora of turbo options for those who only want moderate whp increase - HTA68, 18XTR, big16G, 18G, VFXX, bla bla bla.

Regardles of marketing hype, they are all small upgrades to the stock STi turbo, and for the money for a new turbo, why would you bother spending that much money upgrading for 30whp?

But a 60lbs/min twinscroll bolt-in turbo would be something worth upgrading to. Blouch said the Dom 4 XTR spools at around 5200rpm, but a twinscroll version would drop that figure way down. A turbo with the potential for 500whp and able to hit 20psi mid 4k's would make fore a beast of a car.

And the best thing would be that there is no other TS alternative that big, so Blouch would hold the market in that area.

[quote=wrxsti.l;31102833]There are a plethora of turbo options for those who only want moderate whp increase - HTA68, 18XTR, big16G, 18G, VFXX, bla bla bla.

But only in the last couple of months has there been larger stock location twinscroll turbos available.

I know this may be hard for you to understand but there are people that dont want 500+whp cars. Most people dont live their lives a 1/4 mile at a time

I want around 350-400 whp with fast spool and not too hard on stock internals as my car is a daily summer driver and Im looking around for the best turbo for MY needs, dont worry about how much money I spend, Its my car and ILL DECIDE whats the best way to spend money.

If you are running pump gas and you want 350-400whp, then you want something bigger than a 20G or any of the options WRXSTI.L mentioned. In other words, I it sounds to me like you actually agree with him very much.

So do I... I'll be stoked if my ATP 3076 makes 400whp on a dynojet, but if a TS equivalent will boost significantly sooner without costing me top-end, I just might switch.
