Default Stage 2 Exhaust that will pass WA smog check

I have a 2006 WRX with an Accessport running Stage 1 maps. My car will be coming due for Washington State smog control check in the next year or two. I want to go to Stage 2 but do not want to change exhaust parts just to pass the check. I am aware that just having changed an exhaust part technically takes me out of compliance, but I will risk that as long as not too evident.

Does anyone have experience with a Stage 2 mod that when switched back to factory base map will pass the WA test? I am hoping a high flow cat downpipe will do it, but I can't find any good evidence that it will. Any Subaru performance parts that will do it?

Thanks for any and all advice on this one.

Bob

What kind of check is it? Is it just a visual thing? Do they simply check readiness? Do they actually sniff your tail pipe? Posting in your local forum where people are familiar with the procedure may be a better option. Generally speaking, however, a stage 2 reflash will not stop the readiness monitors from reporting ready.

You should be good, when DEQ plugs in their OBD reader, you won't have any codes with the AP. You don't even need to change the map, just leave the stage 2 map on there.
