I have a 04 wrx, It will be running a catless uppipe/dp (3") and 3" exhaust. I was wondering since I have been on the hunt for stock airbox and it has been ELUSIVE AS HELL, if I would be safe to just run a 2.75in short ram intake or roughly 70mm. My understanding is it will lean out the A/F mixture slightly because the stock intake and SPT/Cobb short rams are roughly 65mm or slightly larger. Ive been reading about MAF scaling to compensate for the larger intake but have been trouble finding definitive answers.
I know what the OTS map notes say... its a 5mm if that difference from a cobb short ram/SPT short ram I dont think I will have any serious issues since I will go to the stock intake shortly (SELL ME ONE IN THE MILWAUKEE AREA!!!) though I still would like to know if I can do any slight tweak to compensate. Ideally I would be using a wideband o2 which I can get, but I would prefer not to go through the hassle since its mounted on a buddies car already. Oh yeah it will be the 93 octane OTS stage 2 map that I will be attempting to run.
