I started to call bull**** on some of those 550 whp tunes with those tiny 950 injectors...... Then I looked up and saw it was a GT-R!

Ok, I have to ask. You dyno'd two 09 wrx; basically the same fuel, boost and AFR's. Why is there only a 5 WTQ difference with the given mods? Obviously the bottom one made more WHP but why not any more torque?

One has 315 WTQ with these mods:
COBB Tuning AccessPORT
COBB Tuning Downpipe

The other made 320 WTQ with these:
COBB Tuning AccessPORT
SPT Catback
COBB Tuning Downpipe
Deatschwerks 1000cc Injectors
Walbro Pump
K&N Typhoon Intake
Perrin TMIC

I am currently in a similiar modification boat and wanted to know if you would recommend that Walbro Fuel Pump vs the AVO 245ltr/h High Flow Fuel Pump?
(I assume he was using the Walbro 255 Fuel Pump? I thought there was some customization needed to use the Walbro 255 in the 2008+ models?)

Would running a more wide open exhaust allow for more tuning room for him to get some more HP out of it? As I have heard from a little bird that the SPT Exhaust is more restrictive?

Could it be more aggressive tuning depending on the customers request? Or as so many say ... Every car is Unique, some cars to accept modifications and changes differently?

Check out the graphs laid over each other.

You can see that even though the peak torque is fairly close, the more heavily modified car holds more torque further into the power band.

You can also see that boost pressure doesn't drop off as much.

If you just look at the peak numbers it can be a little deceiving.

Tim, why is the torque peak so late on this car?

I don't know what Tim's reason will be, however just as a general asside, the 09's peak out (TQ) later then the earlier models partly because of the larger turbo.

They're larger than the previous WRX turbos, but its about the same size as the STI turbos. STI's with stock turbos generally get torque peak before 4k RPM.

Thanks

Hmm... I was told the 09's had a larger turbo then the 08's. I was unaware of the size on the earlier wrxs.

My stock 09' peaked out around the same RPMs as the one your asking about. Perhaps there is some other reason, or combination of reasons.

-What was the injector duty cycle for such large injectors and smallish turbo? They going E85 next? Curious to know about injector size for similar set-up but just 93oct. Thanks
