Default Please help!! Stranded after letting my car sit for 10 days!!

Stranded at the San Jose airport after leaving my '02 wrx in long term (outdoor) parking for 10 days. I started it up about 2 hours ago expecting to drive home when the idle shot up to 2000/2500 rpm for about 10 seconds then went into limp mode with a CEL. I read on here that someone had a similar situation & it had to do with their IACV getting stuck. Thing is, I JUST cleaned my IACV & replaced the gasket. I'm waiting for my phone & laptop to charge while I sit here in the terminal for a bit then I'm gonna get a taxi to Kragen & buy a code scanner & tools to remove/clean the IACV. Does anyone have any ideas off the top of their head what could possibly be causing this? Car was running awesome with a new tune when I parked it........ Also, when I pull the throttle cable under the hood I can hear my grimmspeed EBCS going crazy. This is while it's in limp mode, dunno if that may be a contributing factor...

You either pinched the gasket, or doinked the motor, or moved dirt into a bad location during cleaning. I'm 98.4% sure your problems are again IACV related.

Absolutely sounds like the IACV is stuck.
Happened to me when I let my car sit for about a month. The EXACT same symptoms occurred.

Get a new gasket, take the IACV motor off separate it from the house, and clean it again. I guarantee that is what needs to happen. I used Simple Green Automotive and some Q-Tips. Do that, put it back together. Reset the ECU. You will be on your way.

Yup, IACV was stuck (probably). Rather than taking a taxi, I decided to just limp my car over to Kragen. To my surprise, by the time I got there the car was idling normally. I reset the ecu to clear the CEL & all was good. Very strange. I'll still be pulling the IACV to re-clean but at least I made it home!
