Default 215/45-17 or 225/45-17 on an '05 RS sedan?

I'm replacing the set that the car came with (235/40-18 offset +35 due to rubbing issues) with a 17" set. The new set will have an offset of +42. This is an exchange so I have no control over the wheel.

That being said, the tire company is wondering if 215/45-17's would work better than 225/45-17's on the rim that has an offset of +42. I'd rather go big. I went to 1010tires.com and the 225's actually are closer to the stock size in height.

Thoughts from people that are actually running either of these? Also, I'm not planning of lowering it...quite yet...

Sorry, to clarify by "height" I was referring to 225/45-17 being only .03 mm of the height of the orignal 205/55-16 tires. I'm aware that first numbers indicate the width. I'm just trying to figure out if those will rub. I know that the 2005 Sti's run 225/45-17's but that doesn't necessarily mean that the RS can work with that width without rubbing as the suspension is softer. Plus, the offset difference bewteen stock and these rims don't help the situation either.

I prefer going with 215 since it's going smaller (which is better for the slower N/A's).
