Engine/Power Modifications: sleeved ej257 w/ rods n pistons, tbe, perrin headers, ur up-pipe with tial 38mm ext gate, dom4xtr, tgv deletes, aquamist hfs5 dual meth, spearco tmic, hallman mbc+perrin ebcs, KSTech 83mm CAI, aps inlet
Driveline Modifications: act street clutch, gruppes flywheel
Suspension Modifications: sti pink springs, beatrush engine tranny and pitchstop
Other Modifications: Audio integrations sub box and amp rack. spec-c 12L meth tank, stri gauges, lc-1

I installed the turbo a couple weeks back but couldnt get over 26psi. Figured it was the stock bpv leaking so i got a Forge Race BPV & installed the Forge BPV with the blue spring and 3 shims last night.

Didnt touch the tune from my OG Green.....did a pull and the boost was hitting 32 psi and vacuum lines were popping off. Went by home depot and got some small worms clamps and put em on. Turned the mbc down 2 turns for the first pull, then back up 2 turns for the second pull.

Suck on that mikey

Time to turn your boost up.

mind you this is on 91+meth too.....no vp109 here

holy poop, 32psi..that's like a damn diesel!

Nice tune Ron!
I do have a Question for you.
what made you choose this over the atp 35r?
I mean it seems like this turbo is under achieving...

I would think that it would make around 500whp, I think its VERY laggy as well! JMHO.
If this is the final tune of course!
I would expect full boost about 4400-4500 to be what it should be, but this turbo doesn't seem to kick in till almost 5000
Im not saying its not making power. Just that it should make more!

U think it should make 500whp on 91+meth?

"full boost" is relative to what its set at......show me a turbo hitting 30psi at 4400rpm.

it hits 20psi at 4000rpm......which is better than most of the dom3xtr's that have been posted.

People have to understand what 470whp actually means on a road dyno. That is crazy power. On a SAE corrected dynojet 530-540whp would be had out of this set up, which is very imoressive to say the least (and he is still on a TMIC!!!).

Congrats Ron, Im sure it felt damn good doing a few pulls at that power level. 1-1.5 turns of the mbc should get me there with you (~30-31psi).

So with 4 psi more and 2 degrees less you made 20whp more roughly. Thats close enough to say our turbo's are performing relative. When do you think your 10cm^2 starts to pull on my baby back housing'ed turbo? Im not sure either of us are going to turn it up all that much more to find out.

Nonetheless, take her out to the track when you get a chance. You should be able to destroy my time, but Im curious to see how the traps line up. I'm going to be heading down to the shop after work. Ill update you on your injectors.

Yup, probably about 950 whp if you take it down to Oceanside

Congrats man, throw some cams at it and let it rev

I've ran into some problems with the SD stuff, but it's mostly the lack of a running test car and my pos asus laptop. However, I've been doing more preliminary work on the STi stuff as a result.

Looks sick Ron damn I need that KS tech 83mm maf housing!! What size injectors are you running?? Makes me want to ditch my E85 efforts and go with meth. Awesome stuff here I'd like to replace my OG green with one of these by the end of the season.

Big jam. Nicely done.

I'm glad the new valve got rid of the boost leak, but watch your AFR learning with that one. I've seen it wander back and forth on that valve for some reason and putting a stock BPV on made it stop on every car with no other changes.

That's the amazing part! Is this just straight meth injection or a combo with water. Does meth have any cooling properties, or does it just keep knock down? Can someone explain more?

I do not believe there should be any WOT learning in Ron's case. The max C /min D learings have been changed from 40g/sec to 85g/sec. So the car doesnt learn WOT corrections when going part throttle on the highway

Yup that's a good trick. I go to 90, but 85 should be plenty. Ron seems to want to do things properly in terms of the scaling and fuel trims, as I do, so it still bugs the heck out of me.

Any ideas as to why the forge seems to induce corrections?

Cuz the forge can come with a little chitty spring.....so little that the vacuum being pulled by the return line to the intake sucks it open under vacuum.

Hmmmmmmm. I have a chitty little spring myself....... Why I havnt changed it to compare fuel learnings is beyond me.

I just live with the fact my car cruises at 15.7-16.7 It seems to be happy there anyway being that there is almost 11k on the motor.
