Default need help with my accessport

So i bought my v1 a few months ago and have been running stage1 map..I'm in the process of getting a downpipe and was going to put the state 2 tune on but i remembered when i plugged it back in that the guy i bought it off of had a protune on it for his car. both cars at 2006 wrx which is the model for the v1 also. is a protune a protune? like his tune was just an intake and a turbo back does that mean with those same things it would be safe to run on my car or is that risky? I'm great with mechanical part of car's but new to tuning.

please help don't want to damage my car but have heard that protune maps are safer than cobb maps. but wasn't sure since the protune was not done on my car and was done on another car..

I'm no expert, but from what I have learned is that the Cobb maps are a little safer and run a little more conservative. A protune would basically create a new map based on your mods to maximise the power with your given mods.

I guess it would be easier to understand your first questions if you can list what the car has already when you bought it, and what your goals are mod wise.

Technically you could, but it would be more beneficial and safer to get a tune for YOUR vehicle and mods. All cars are different.
