Default giving the car to my brother - title questions

Landed a great job overseas and will be leaving for an extended period of time. I wanted to give my WRX to my brother. How do I title the car in his name, but keep njmvc fees to a minimum? Thanks in advance!

Yes , I believe he is right. Sell as a gift, and he has to register the car & title under his name @ DMV once he has proof of insurance.

Gift, if you get auditted later by the tax department you just fill out an afidavit of the sale and have it notorized.

You don't need to show insurance proof in NJ only a policy number on the card you fill out. Rather stupid in my opinion but that's it.

That's a nice little gift to your brother.

1. sign the title over and fill out price as gift,
2. write up a gift letter (like a bill of sale)

that should be all
he ends up paying reg fee and title fee
