here are some drag racing rules:
by gaining 10whp you are suppose to lower .1 tenth in 1/4th and gain 1 mph. By loosing 100lbs of static weight you are suppose to have the same effect as gaining 10whp. Rotational weight count as twice the static weight according to some people.

I can't believe you are still on stock TMIC , with my VF39 my STI TMIC use to get heat soaked bad after a few pulls.

Jake, are you still down to give me a shot down the 1/4 in your car?

You could drive mine, if it had an ignition and a straight front end..

mikey, whenever your down here we will get up.

put the stock crank pulley back on in hopes of fixing p0000.

apparently the 5 speed lightweight fly wheel and cobb light weight crank pulley don't like my crank sensor.

big up to rich at precision for gettin back at me so quick. i really appreciate it, brother.

I got that code on my hybrid builld of past too. It would come and go from time to time. I'm figured that's something your had to deal with on a 16bit ecu with 272 cams + light weight fly. Car ran great it was just annoying.

I really like the Link G4/Vipec V88 ecu but it looks like the price went up this year so that's out. I'm hoping I can get my hands on the new AEM series 2 box when it comes out.

The Series 1 had problems with cam sinc at times. Looking at the software it didn't look like they had an tuneable trigger point for the reluctor type pickups. That was one main things they addressed in the new Series 2 box. The series 2 has completely redesigned circuitry and looking at the software can be tuned for varying reluctor cam and crank signal inputs.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and uncalled for. There are 600whp stock ecu subies, if a tuner is having problems with a certain car, figure it out and get it done!

lets not pretend i'll have 2500$ laying around anytime soon.

there are tuning features that the stock ecu doesn't offer...boost control per gear is interesting.

With everything there are compromises. Yes you can run a 600 whp suby with the stock ecu but there is so much more you can do with a standalone that can't be done with the stock ECU.

To me it not about whether or not I can run 600hp on the stock ECU its about can I run 600 whp on a standalone BETTER with more protection, more fail safes, more processing power, better on-board logging, finer control, and the flexibility to do what every I want with the engine. Its not cheap but I don't plan on getting rid of the car anytime soon.

Its not for everybody for sure but if your in it for the long haul I think its worth it.

The stock ECU is as good or even better than a standalone, it just needs more development. Look at the EVOs are duing with the stock ECU, they are making 1000whp this days . I rather waste my money on hookers and blow
