Its all good, we'll be battling motor noise next weekend using det cans.
I think we should do c16 in jakes car next week, turn a low 11. -Mikey

short shift linkage wouldn't hurt either.
the short ratio 04 sti tranny is a lil bit wek sauce. i'm smashin syncros, it wont last if i dont get short shifter. def get into 5th up to like 5-6k, not like a lil short burst. i predict, ppg 5 speed or rebuilt 6 speed in the near future. not fun. car needs anything better than an 02 wrx open rear diff. header needs leaks repaired...i expect better throttle response from that. it lags a lil. when i'm deep in the tree, i stab it comfortably to 5200. its not quite enough to really ride out and get a good launch. in the burnout box, 5200 breaks em loose, but not off the line. i go around the water best i can. i think 6k would geter done but that probally wont last long on the 02 rear diff. overall, big up to karl for making it happen, on a day where no babysitter was to be had. jr. hey i know your the big boss with the hot sauce but everyone misses a gear once in a while and if i was next to you during that incident, i would roll with it into the history books ![]() |

put pump map 22 on and popped a p032 front o2 sensor code at cruise to 7-11. car is super sensitive (16 bit i guess). cleared it, but hopefully thats not on its way out.
gonna check plugs and compression on monday. gonna run the one step colder at 26 gap... if you guys remember one of my cylinders (#3 i believe) had 170 compression, while the others were around 150. ronaldo mentioned he can turn down the sensitivity of the knock thresholds...gonna look into that. |

Do you have any airboy graphs of your pump gas tune? Did you really hit 400whp airboy on 93 pump. If so nice work! That's alot of power on pump gas and a 30r! What psi did you guys run?

I have data...we did 377/333 on the current build. We airboy'd 420 yesterday but obviously something was off. We are back on pump now, and ron is tightening it up.
There are a few things that can be done to help...like repairing my header... Let me get ron to post the data... |

we need to do some testing with race gas and/or det cans to determine if his knock is real or not. Based on his power level....i think its real...but the timing is pretty low...like 12-14* at redline...makes me think its not real. |

Wow so how much boost? The 2.5L is noisy on the 16-bit ecu. I found most of my false knock occurred between 4800rpm and 6000rpm... Phantom knocketh... ![]() |

Same here TD, thats why we are running such low timing, plus my compression may be higher than the average hybrid.
The thousand spent on converting fuel system to e85 may be spent wiser on EM. |

I've seen WRX specific AEM boxes for less than a grand used but I'm not sure how good the knock control is on those boxes.

I will be ready for the weekend, but I wont be around. Get that race gas tune that will drop you into the low 11s automatically and it might be a decent race ![]() Jr |

its all good junior. when i was young an older friend told me that if i wanted to learn how to become a better skateboarder, i had to roll up on the big boys and give it all i had. this advice has propelled me through this game we call life. nothin to it but to do it.
i don't remember "calling you out" , more like an invitation. when i saw the track was open, i put the word out to all my buddies that i thought would bring out a car that would provide entertainment. so i get there a lil late and see the track is pretty much a ghost town. well except for a maroon fxti... i get right behind it thinkin its you...but it wasn't. that 35r fxti had me beat with 12.0's all day anyway! big up to annointed... |

it was actuallly his buddy shawn driving, annointed wasn't there.
his car ran 12.0 @ ??? all i gathered after finding out it wasnt Jr. was that it had a built 35r, and the track beckoned us. i didn't get to race his, but from what i could see he would have bagged me. |

you realize my heads are v5 2.0 jdm big port heads that have been opened up from 49cc to 54cc. i believe the usdm sti heads are 57cc.
i never actually measured them for myself, but after assembly i did a compression check. came out wierd... 152 149 170 154...so #3 is really high. even the other cylinders were higher than i expected. the heads contain, kelford 272s (rem treated), manley plus one valvetrain, 5 angle valve job, and converted to shimless buckets. i expected much more out of the 4k$ i have in the heads, only to find out that these heads wont really come to life below 500whp...i should have just slapped on usdm 2.0 hybrid for my 30r... its cool though, i never thought i'd say my 30r is kinda small, but it does 23#s by 4krpm this car will def see 65#compressor wheel. |

Maybe you were drunk!! I hear you though, but at the same time you gotta get yourself to the point were you can step up and run with the big boys before you come out and get shut down ... Besides.. I am no big boy, I am just me, doing what I do. I actually felt like you came out trying to pick on my 3500lb little turbo beater. I know when I call people out I bring a lesser machine and let my other skills do the talking.. Like when I call out AMRs "7sec" drag car with a 9 sec car ![]() Or when I call out 800+whp EVOs with 600whp subaru.. I am the under dog.. You were bringing a lighter car with more "air boy whp" to try and make my XT look bad ![]() When I button up the XT we can go walk the walk.. I will even let you leave on me |

all right junior, it was a friendly invite i promise you that, but i will admit i was lookin for a race! maybe your trigger finger is gettin itchy for a day down at the track and you took me the wrong way.
i'm certainly not gunning for anyone. i'm not that kind of guy. i'd be really stoked if i could get around you in a run but it would be more like high fiving chase utley after a homerun, than an opportunity to talk smack. respect where its due brother. if somebody beats me in a race and won't give me an chance to match up than so be it. can't win every race but can come back stronger next time. good times...2011. jr. you coming to the autox event down here next weekend? |
