We are not thinkin rod knock now. Its def not constant.
We ramped it up a bit and its seems like the hard hitting metal hitting metal right around 2800-3200
Is not nearly as loud and hard hitting as it was. The noise comes on exactly on top of the valveteain noise...same speed and pitch but right at 3k the valve train noise get a deeper harder sound till like 3200-4000rpms. If I floor it through that range I dont hear it over engine noise. Only when I baby it through the low end do I notice it.

this is awesome news to hear . Are you running a killer b oil pickup jake? if so get one asap...the last thing you want to do is crack your pickup and toast a motor like i did . And tell jodie to text me and lets get my **** together! lol. I want this bucket of a car running sometime this month.

I have the frugal version of the killa b, covert performance...130$.
If it ends up being slap and I have to live with it, i'll be tearing it apart any way because the noise is disturbing, well it was when I first heard it.

do you let your car warm up fully before driving? if you didnt when it was loud that may explain it. my wrx is way louder when cold than it is warmed up.

i dont think i've heard of anyone developing piston slap over time....

either way....turn your mbc down a full turn in the meantime.

jake has decided he wants to try and bend the rod back in the other direction so he's gonna run -10* of timing, -20psi MAP, and do a couple pulls in reverse.

THats kind of you ron. We can offer that with your phatbotti e tune package.

Put hakt ecu up on the lift this morning. Ran it through 3k with garth and vince underneath the engine.

They both hear knock of some sort.

Got the integra back driveable, what a difference between an acura and a subaru.

And caging it too!

No metallics in the oil at all. It was somehow a quart low within 100 miles, 4 of which was at atco. Compression test next.
