Default Garia LSV street legal golf cart

Quote:
Golfers can feast their eyes on the Garia LSV, a street legal golf cart that will be showcased at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Attendees can view it in the booth of Valmet Automotive, Gariaís partner. It will be placed beside the Think City EV, Fisker Karma and the EVA electric concept. In a release, Anders Lynge, the designer of the Garia, said that an LSV is perfect for shorter trips and recreational purposes. Certainly, people will appreciate that the Garia LSV can be driven directly from the home to the golf course. Garia LSVís drivetrain is manufactured by the same Italian company which produces the Ducati gearboxes. The LSVís double wishbone front suspension is similar to those found in sports cars and inspired by Formula 1 cars. Powering the golf cart is a 3-phase AC motor developing 3 kW (4 Hp) for 60 minutes. The maximum speed of 15 mph/24 km/h (6 mph/11 km/h in reverse) renders useless the double wishbone front suspension.

60 minutes of power - the average round of golf lasts 4-5 hours. Unless that's 60 minutes of continuous use.

that is what it reads to me, continuous use.

and a typical round of golf shouldn't take any longer than 4 hours, if you're doing it right.

15mph seems a bit slow for being street legal.

At my work we have one of those street legal Ford th!nk Neighbor's, it tops out at 25mph. It is actually a pretty solid cart, and is still going strong after 7 years of pure abuse.

What golf are you playing haha in southern cali we play with 4 people and a round of golf will take at the very least 4 hours..

I don't even take full practice swings.. so I consider myself a fast golfer haha

get to the course earlier, find a less populated course, or go late in the afternoon for the twilight fees (you'd be amazed at how fast people play when they are playing against the sun).

I play in Houston, there are a few courses where it can get backed up, but there are plenty of courses around that you can play at your own pace.

I guess if you are walking a course it can take between 4 and 5 hours, but when I was golfing all the time (2-3 rounds a week and driving range pretty much any other time) when I would go with my regular 4some we could finish a round in less than 4 hours easily (with carts, of course)

Dear gentlemen

My name is Rasmus Sass BjÝrch and I'm responsible for the propulsion system in the Garia vehicles.

There is a common misinformation in the press release in this post.

- 60 min is the rating on the motor. This means that the motor is able to handle 3 kW for at least 1 hour. The rating is on our motor is very high compared to other similar 48V vehicles. The design of the Garia motor allows higher heat dissipation due to large cooling fins.

- On the golf car we have limited the max speed to 15 mph due to golf car regulations.
The LSV is also limited but the max speed is 25 mph to comply with the LSV regulations.

Visit one of our dealers or contact our US HQ and ask for at test drive... I promise you it's a totally new, exciting and different experience !

If you have any questions feel free to ask

Br.
