my r/t's were 1.085, 1.059, 0.645, 1.205
my 60' were 2.486, 2.397, 2.351, 2.429.

I'm gonna make a thread and post the time slips in the proven power bragging section just for the hell of it just to show my improvements the next time I go. EDIT: here's the thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1#post30182981

You did great dude, considering that track. I'd like to have seen the look on that civic driver's face when he thought he was gonna beat an STI.

It was definitely fun and i'd be cool with making it a weekly thing just let me know. n1c3tr1,
I found the forum but the only base map that I can find for a N/A is for a 2007 2.5i but it is for a manual transmission. Hopefully I can find one.

I'm down for a weekly meet. The track is open almost every Wed night. I'm also down for dinner before the track night.

Also a go-kart day on the weekend would be a fun meet...

http://ocalagranprix.com/

It's a blast. They will do about 55-60mph on the straight.

We might be able to copy the values from the MT cells to the AT cells in the map. But it's up to you. It's your car. We can always do little things, like remove the speed limiter, raise or lower the rev limit. Basicly anything you might want to change. Rescaling the MAF, if it is possible, would be a good thing to do... wait do you have a MAF on a 2.5i?

Either way we can always talk about it later at one of the meets. At the next one i'll bring my cable and laptop and I can do reads and look at just about anything if someone needs it done.

I'm up for going out to the track but won't be able to do food before. I'll be at the track around 8:30 or so.

Anyone know if you need a helmet to drag?
If so, does someone coming have an extra one I can borrow
Not too sure if anyone answered you.
A helmet is required if you run a 13.99 or better. The Helmet needs to be DOT, SFI or Snell Approved and NOT EXPIRED.

Other things people don't normally know:
If you are running non-street tires and planning on going faster than 12.99, you need a driveshaft loop.

MUST have a battery tie down and coolant overflow (WRX/STI has one stock, so not a problem).

while I was there I told the tech inspector I didn't have a helmet and he told me I could rent one for $10 in the building by the staging lanes so I did

I'd find a friend that rides a bike and just borrow it for the night. I had a friend that used to ride his motorcycle to the track, and I'd use it while I ran.

Your times don't look half bad considering it is your first time out, you just need much more seat time. Get your 2.3-2.5 60' times down into the 1.9-1.8 and you'll easily be deep into the 13s. Good times in these cars comes from good launching.

It is definitely something that just takes experience, I've never launched an AWD car at the track, so I'm pretty confident my times would be similar.

To this date, my only track experience has been in my old LT1 Camaro on spray. It was simply, purge line, stall converter, stomp gas, hold on.

I ended up going out and buying one today at the "Scooter Superstore" haha.
It's a snell m2005 rating helmet I got for $80 after tax..not too shabby. Especially if I start doing autocross races.

And ya I'm probably going to go back to the track tomorrow to see if I can improve my times.
I can't eat dinner with you guys but I'm probably going to go right at 6:30 so I can get more runs in this time.

Well I'm a fat ass and I'm going to eat before I go to the track.

How does Adam's Rib Co. on 13th sound? I'll be there around 6 - 6:30pm.

Now the real question is do I run tonight and see what I can net?

Cool. I should be here. I was thinking when it gets closer to the May road course dates we should all get together and do an install day. I really want to change my brake pads before getting on the track.

The road course events - http://www.gvilleroadrace.com - are a blast. They're $95 for basically all you can run from 9 until 1. Great bunch of cars and drivers, good course setup with three big straights and an exciting mix of different corners and features. You really do get all the seat time you want. I had to call it a day an hour or so early last time thanks to my brake pads, but I'll be out in May (missed the registration for the next one). I might show up on the tenth just to hang out and shoot pictures, though. Here are some of my shots from last time:

They've had people register and not pay or show up, so you've still got an excuse. It didn't happen last time, though.

You tune yourself?
I've been doing a lot of reading, and I am thinking about making the plunge and picking up a netbook/wideband this month and taking a stab at it.

Everytime I start reading, it just gets overwhelming really fast

I participated last year too. Kinda got suckered into this time cause they needed more people.

I've already donated $100 and I got family and friends to donate too so it would look ****ty if I backed out haha.

Yea. Running a base map from the RomRaider's forums right now. Runs great.
