Post I've decided to Supercharge.

Well everyone,
After a while of thinking about what to do to MY93, I'm going to supercharge rather then turbo. If your wondering why I'm not going to supercharge the main reason is because I can't afford to turbo so why not go with the next best thing. Unless someone out there wants to donate some funds to the "help Dre2932 Turbo his ride" fundation? Just playing. Besides I'm about to buy a 98 Celica to start working on. I'm just not sure what color..

Supercharged Subaru?

Uh, pardon me for asking, but wouldnt you want to put a turbo on a car that has ALL of the parts available through an OEM souce? I mean, blowers are cool, but it seems like you could dip into various sube parts bins and do this a lot easier. Plus you wont get as much static from the turbo guys on this forum...

JC Sport offers a pissah turbo kit with intercooler for under $3000. It even comes with a new oil pan with the drain pre-welded!

To tell you the truth its a bit less to supercharge rather then turbo. And besides I'm only going to be driven my Impreza for another 2 year anyhow. But don't worry everyone I would never sell this car. This is my baby..

Thumbs up

On the supercharger kit, you don'y have to pull the oil pan. Just put a connector on the valve cover. My kit had the drain originally in the pan. What a pain in the a$$ that was. I decided to run the drain back through the valve cover. Works perfect. Only problem was that I had to replace my oil pan to put it back to stock. The supercharger kit is the way to go. You don't have to worry about "melting" things from the turbo heat and you don't have to move/remove the cruise control (that is where the turbo goes).

Maybe you should contact Eaton. They are making the superchargers for the STX. (2.5 liter engine in it also.)

I plan on doing the S/C thing as well. I have thought about it for a very long time. When I have the money saved, I will drive down there and see if Rimmer has the kit in stock. I almost doubt they will but it's worth a try. I may have to change a few things to get it to work but it can be done.

Why not go Turbo? Well I want to be different.

Why not go N/A? Well it's just to expensive.

Plus the sound alone will be worth it for me.
