Indeed!
However, we can see with the pictures that the front tires are way outside of the fenders, it doesn't seem like the suspension could possible compress more then an inch or so without the tires banging into the fenders. I was wanting to do 255/35R18 on a 18x9ish wheel and +44 offset and all the research I could find showed I'd likely have to roll the fenders a bit. Not being slammed or anything either. His pictures 'seem' to confirm that. Doesn't mean I'm right though. ![]() EDIT: Fixed tire size typo... :/

^i haven't seen anyone run 255/40/18 on our narrow body. That's pretty tall. I run 245/40/18 and am considering 265/35/18 when I'm due for tires again.

No worries man. It happens. I have seen people run 255/40/18 on the 2011+ with success. Still pretty tall for the WRX gearing, but damn it looks nice filling out the fenders. But yeah, 255/35/18 is ideal for our gearing. Still gonna try 265's once I get my camber plates installed on my RCE/Bilstein setup.

Rims: 2004 STI BBS "Goldies" Size: 17x7.5 Tires: 225x45r17 Goodyear Eagle GT all seasons i need some input from everyone. im looking at buying some Rota Gravels 18x8. ive been reading through this forum and seems a lot of people slap on 235x40r18 on that rim size. im curious to know if 245x40r18 will provide more rim protection and be able to fit without rolling the fenders. i need help deciding on 245x40 or 235x40r18 any feedback is greatly appreciated. hope you enjoy the swp and goldies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I can't say to fitment, but 245/40R18 is going to be a really tall tire for a narrow body 3g.

Why does the body matter? They have the exact same tranny and gearing as the 11+

Within the wheel arches, the fender liners allow more room on the wide body than our narrow body. I run 245/40/18 and rub on the fender liners during full lock.
Rear fenders rolled, front fenders slightly pulled. Not sure what work you'll need cause I'm on 18x9 +38. |

Just got reference, I'm lowered an inch on 18x8.5 +44 wheels with 225/40 tires and I've never rubbed. I'm moving up to 245/40s next; I might rub, but I don't mind since I'm dead set on that size tire. But maybe I won't, because I still have a decent amount of clearance as is. |

424 nice wrb! swp n gold nice setup! i am currently still on stock suspension. no plans yet for lowering or switching suspension. i live in the mountains so i need the clearance. i want 245 because of rim protection. but 235x40 seems the most popular. im buying 18x8 rota gravels for my summer setup and keeping the bbs for winter. would an 18x8.5 be a better summer setup than 18x8? sorry im a noob with rims n tires with 18s

^yeah. I thought I wanted redicuiious tires for my daily. They ended up tramlining like crazy and offer little comfort with road imperfections. I'm stepping down out of extreme performance and into max performance or ultra high performance. I'm willing to give up some performance for better daily drivability, better comfort and better wet traction.

Ok cool. Im thinking I'll go with 235x40. Plus I'm not lookin for extreme performance tires. I'm going to get some general g max or hankook ventus tires or Dunlop direzzas. This is my daily driver. Thanks for the input guys.
