I thought the same thing, but they are in fact the +18's.

Unless the picture is misleading, and is not showing how much camber is actually being used, because that is more aggressive than has been run on a GD (in terms of tire size) - on a car that has less fender clearance.

With people in the "stance" scene, you really can't believe everything they say even though "its not a competition".

I recently fit 18x10 +38 xd9's on a friends 04 wagon, and the fitment looks pretty damn identical.

I could also very well be wrong. Who knows.

It's just the picture. He doesn't have a whole lot of pics that show the camber. Most of his pics are at a slight angle. Here's one more:

I'm venturing to guess he's close to -4.0 in the rear.

Is it a fact that the GD has more clearance than the GE/GH? I thought the 2008-2010 WRX had similar clearance as the GD STi and the GR obviously has the most clearance.

still nothing that states offset. the +18 and +38 have the same face, and same amount of lip.

^I know they do. I've asked him on Instagram if they were +38. He said no, they are +18. Seems like he gets the offset question a lot. He quotes the offset in almost every pic of his wheels on Instagram. Weather he's telling the truth or not, well I guess that's up to you to decide. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

just genuinely curious. this changes a lot of things about what is possible with GH fitment.

I'm lowered on Epic springs/Koni shocks which makes the drop about 1.5f/1.0r and I don't expect to rub since I had plenty of space with my previous 225/40s and I'm still on stock fenders (not rolled or pulled).

The 2008s have the same amount of fender clearance as the 2009-2010 WRXs so no worries there. I was originally going to go with 245/40/18s, but then I read that Federals run a little wider than normal so I just got those in 235/40/18. They fit the 18x8.5 wheels really well and I have a feeling they're going to look really good when I get them mounted on the car.

A 245/40 Federal is going to run close to what a 255/40 "normal" tire runs in terms of width. If you want a 245/xx/18 Federal on our cars, I would opt for the 35 sidewall so it will run close to a 255/35/18 "normal" tire which is the same diameter as stock (225/45/17).
For some reason i cant see pictures on my computer. I was going to try to get my hands on some swift springs or SPT springs and put them on the stock shocks. Once those shocks go out i was going to go with the rce yellow/bilstein shock combo. Im not really sure wat the drop is going to one the rce yellow/bilstein shocks. But for now i was going to go with either the swift or SPT? What do you think?
Btw i really dont like the SLAMMED look but i also dont like the wheel gap. So maybe a drop like urs would be perfect. What do you think?

So I'm assuming you have a 2008-2010 WRX since you're posting in this particular thread? Swift and SPT springs don't lower the car much, I believe the Swifts are .75" for the sedan and 1" for the hatch. Honestly, if you don't like wheel gap and you plan on getting aftermarket shocks eventually, I would look into either Epic Engineering, Eibach or H&R springs; they're all respectable companies and provide a larger drop than Swift or SPT without being slammed.

Would +38 for the 18x10 xd9 be a better option or will that knock onto suspension/coilovers

Inner clearance isn't an issue. "Better" depends on what you want.

I know either way +18 or +38 guards would need to be rolled but if i get +38 would i need a massive amount of camber or guard work if i lower my car like +18. Planning on getting these wheels but havnt seen anyone with +38 on a 09 wrx. Thanks

+38 will be easier. you'll still need to stretch tires and be in the -2 to -3* camber range.

you'll need at least a roll all around regardless.

Oh dang srry. I actually have an 08 wrx hatch. Well i just contacted a guy with an 08 wrx hatch and he said that he fit 17x9 +42 wrapped in 245/35. So i think i should be good with 18x8.5 +44 wrapped in 235/40. Ok thanks for your input. What kind of springs are you running??

Epic Engineering. 1.2f/1.0r the Konis dropped the front another quarter inch or so, so I'm at about 1.5f/1.0r now.

wanted to get opinions on the following for 2009 silver wrx sedan

1) http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/Wh...ption=Standard

2) http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Price

3) http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/Wh...ption=Standard

4) http://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/Wh...ption=Standard

I haven't seen anything like 3 and 4 looking through these pics. Debating one of these, or trying to find some 2011 stock wrx rims (obviously would be 17's opposed to these 18's though)

thoughts everyone?

You know those are all fine rims (i wouldnt go for any of them IMO) but i would say that the Enkei EV5 would look pretty sick on an 09.

Im about to order some either rota grids 18x8.5 +44 or 17x9 +42. Have a friend thats running the 17x9 +42 on an 08 with 245/40 and says it just rubs in the back.
