2004 wrx map on 2002 wrx

Would I be able to remap my 2002 ecu with a 2004 base stage 2 accessport map? Reasons being to have a launch control enabled map. I downloaded the beta firmware so now the option to set launch control is there on the accessport but the map still does not allow it.

I HIGHLY doubt it. I know with open source you cannot do that. The 04 ecu has a different flashmethod than the 02. I have never heard of getting around that with an AP and I really don't think it's possible.

Yea right after i posted this thread, I downloaded the 04 map and on the accessport it says locked.

you can apply the open source patch to your ROM by pulling your map from the ECU. As long as you only do realtime flashes you will keep the launch control. If you do a base map reflash you will lose it... works for me anyways.
