Overboosting Stage1?

To start my car is a 04 STi

I just put the Cobb Stage1 93 octane map on my car as the base map and I have noticed that if I am in third or fourth at around 3000-4000RPM and floor it, it will spike to around 18psi. Dont get me wrong it pulls nice at 18psi but should I be worried about this? In the map notes it states that a target boost of 16.5psi should be achived +/- 0.5psi. So I am assuming that something needs to be changed to lower the boost by 1psi.

1st and 2nd I get a strong 15-16psi.

Mods are, completely stock with a APV1 Stage 1 tune.

I am also throwing the ever soo popular P0457 code with my car (this has been going on for a long time and have not found a cure for it yet)

I plan on putting a non catted TBE this weekend and flashing the stage2 tune. But if I am having problems with the stage1 tune I will try to fix this first.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, 1 Psi is not that much over. JMO

Ok thanks, I ended up doing some testing today with the cobb tuner set to read boost in real time and it showed that I was hitting no higher than around 17.3psi. So I guess my gauge is off by a tad.

Just a little over cautious I guess.
