Hey Geoff, will BW ever offer V-Band Exhaust housings for their turbos? That would be awsome!

FR sells BW turbos with 3" V-Bands on the exhaust housings. In a twin scroll application it is not really possible to employ a V-Band on the turbine housing inlet.

My marmon flange on my 91-79 is 4" reducing down to 3 1/2" , then at the catback end of my dp , the dp reduces down to 3" to mate up with the catback.... Fullrace just puts the 3" vband in place so their kit is interchangable with garrett turbos and Borg Warner turbos imo...

I know that , I was referring to a complete V-Band housing on the entry side and exhaust side of the housing, like the tials. They are not a twinscroll only company.

I'm thinking that even the smallest of the s200 series is going to be too big for a stock ej205. Is yours stock?

well if the smallest is a 56-58lb per minute that a little bigger than a gt30, and it will be twinscroll i dont really see a problem, it will actually be going on a 9:1 compression build ver8 207.

I am running 57lb S256 with .63ar, full boost (21psi) at about 3700-3800 in 3rd gear (6spd) on totally stock hybrid motor with 9:1 compression. With same size trubo in twinscroll with better cams, i don't see how u can't match that spool or do better.

I am not a tuner or anything, but i don't think you'll be able to hit full boost before 4k with 1.09. Best turbo i think might be billet wheel S259 .70AR. It will def get you to you HP goal with very quick spool. S256 will get you there too, but might as well spend some extra $$ and get the billet wheel and better turbo.

Pretty sure he is wanting a twinscroll. In which case the T3 divided .85 seems like it would work just fine.

I dont know why everybody compares this turbo to a GT30, Remember there is a bigger diffrence between the Borg and the Garrett than thier is between a Green and a GT30. And a S259 is 6-8 lbs bigger than a GT30 in the turbo world thats quite a bit, If you had to compare the turbo you would have to say its like a GT33 which doesent exist.

Can anyone actually explain to me the A/R in comparing single scroll to twin scroll? For twin scroll is the A for just a single volute or is it the combination of both volutes?

Are people saying they are technically the same minus the volume that is taken up by the division of the scroll? Hence why 1.06 twin scroll A/R is like a .82 single scroll A/R?(or something similar).

I'm trying to figure out how to more accurately compare the A/R and turbine housings of twin vs single scroll to help make estimates/decisions on spool up and top end characteristics.

Sorry its a little OT, but any help would be great.

Thanks!
Ben

I agree. With you on that, it would help to have a better explanation of that. Also when I look all I see is an s200 T3. It doesn't say what wheel it has, but I deff like the idea of the billet wheel, just not 100% sure what my options really are
