Unhappy Leaking fluids...

I have just purchased my '93 and this is the first time I have worked on this type of engine. I have put on minor mods and street race a lot. However, when I do run after run, eventually I begin to leak what I think is power steering fluid. It leaks onto the pipning beneath it and smokes until it is all burned off. Any ideas on what this may be?

If it is indeed power steering fluid, it couldn't hurt to power flush and replace the fluid with fresh automatic transmission fluid (*NOT* power steering fluid... Subaru is odd like that). Hopefully, a flush/fill has been done in the past, but hey, you never know ). Also, check the banjo bolt at the bottom of the pump and the compression nuts on the power steering rack itself (it is located inside of the engine crossmember right between the front wheels). There should be four of them all told IIRC. Make sure they are tight and/or not leaking. I had a problem with air getting into my power steering system due to those compression nuts being loose, and it caused a boil-over of my fluid (air expands ALOT more than than PS fluid and that stuff gets HOT).
