Default FS: 2006 Stage 3 WRX in CO for $16,000

Stage 3 WRX. It has every factory STI modification except for a 6-speed manual and brembo brakes. Dealers and myself have valued the car between the price of a WRX and an STI. It has A LOT of torque and is easily the nicest car you are going to find for $16k. I've been offered $15,000 for a trade in so I would rather sell it myself for an extra $1k. I really want something with RWD that is why I'm selling it. I will only consider trade offers for an Infiniti G35. I come up to Utah like twice a month so if your extremely interested I can plan a trip up there for you. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I'm located in Grand Junction. Thanks

Eric

It has a vf39, sti topmount, Cobb downpipe, hks catback, Cobb intake, and as you know the 06s came with the same 2.5l as the sti's. Accessport protuned by Clark turner. Cobb stage 2 suspension, spoilers, badges, full interior, black powdercoated wheels. Oil was just changed with royal purple. Spark plugs changed last week. Walbro fuel pump. I think I covered everything. If you have any other questions let me know

I don't understand the stages either. But people always freak out on me when I call it an sti. It is basically the same thing without the six speed and gold brembos. I think the price is extremely fair for the car you are getting. A test drive will sell the car. I had a Porsche dealer test drive it and they came back in and were like "what the hell did you do to that thing? It definitely has A LOT of power" I know Every sti owner will talk crap about it. But I bought the car because I wanted to do the mods myself instead of having Subaru do them for me

According to most people from what I've seen:

stage 1=tuning
stage 2=exhaust
stage 3=protune
stage 4=turbo/intercooler

Regardless off the stage, its basically an STI for 4k less. I don't think I will have that difficult a time selling it, especially when stock TR's are selling for $15k.

good luck with the sell. its a clean car for sure.

I would just stop calling it stg 4 or a sti.

it is what it is a very clean tastefully modded wrx. but in all seriousness vf39, sti top mount, with tune equates to stage 3 wrx. I'm just trying to help you out and educate you on proper terminolgy. take care

sorry man but it's not the same as an sti. The only differences are not just brakes and 6spd. They don't even have the same jack points between the 06 wrx and the 06 sti. The motors are NOT the same either. 06 wrx uses an air pump the 06 sti does not block is not the same either, btu I won't go into it. I could make you a huge list of all the differences but I will won't. Good luck with the sale it's a nice car.

-brembos
-wrx has the same block as sti but has 8.4:1 c/r pistons. i believe 04-06 sti is 8.2:1 and 07+ is 8.6:1
-wrx heads have a smaller combustion chamber
-hubs/ knuckles on certain years
-f/r/c LSDs
-air pump came on 07+ stis and 06+ wrx
-larger turbo on sti vf39 (04-06sti) vf43 (07 sti) vf48 (08+ sti)
-of course sti has the 6MT
-forged bbs wheels vs the cast enkei on the wrx
-larger intercooler on sti, even larger on 08+
-hid headlamps
-underbody flat panels on 06? + sti
-sti wing
-sti roof vane on 06+
-red sweeping gauges
-center DCCD
-inverted front and rear struts on 04-07 sti. inverted fronts on 08+
-no sound deadening in sti
-better fuel hanger in sti (not as much surging)
-red coated intake on sti
-blue interior
-intercooler spray 04-07

thats all i can think of. however i think the OPs car is nice and is worth the money.

Forgot painted matching side mirrors, and contoured side skirts.

Let me re-write the ad:

For Sale:

2006 WRX-TR
VF39 turbo swap
STI intercooler
STi seat / door card swap
STI wing
unknown lowering springs

Custom mods:
falsely rebadged as an STI
"Custom" pink stickers all over the place
Spraypainted black stock WRX wheels.

Personally, I think the value of the car has been decreased. If the car were kept stock looking, with simply a turbo and interior swap, it would be quite nice. As it is now though... it's ruined.

I didn't google cars101.com just so I could get the exact numbers.

I believe I looked at the 2 block side by side when they first came out in 2006 and they were not the same.... I coule be wrong, I have been once or twice
