Default Possible New Chevrolet Malibu Patent Designs Surface

Quote:
Houston, we have a problem. The world's patent offices are leaking like a sieve, or online media has finally discovered their websites. First it was the Porsche Panamera Convertible, then Maybach facelift and now it's the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.

As the drawings suggest, the next-generation Malibu will feature sharper lines, a distinctive hood, slimmer C-pillars, and Camaro-inspired taillights. Inside, the interior is expected to boast wraparound HVAC vents and a large infotainment system.

Riding on the short wheelbase version of the Epsilon II platform, which underpins the Opel Insignia and Buick LaCrosse, the Malibu will likely be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter V6. A hybrid model is almost a certainty, so don't be surprised if a hybridized version of the 2.4-liter shows up.

Set to go into production in 2012, the new Malibu will tackle the Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord.
