Default DIY Manual Boost Controller

i was reading about some DIY MBCs today, i'm planning to put one together this weekend. is there anything i should know about before doin this?

here are the links i got the idea from:
http://velocity.websitegalaxy.com/mbc.html
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/mbc/mbc.html

I already have the parts for the one i read at the 2nd link, all it needs is a spring, I just want some feedback before i put it in so i don't **** up my car

I would have some people that have boost controllers take a look at it first just for the hell of it.

I guess the Boost Monkey Group Buy is out of the question.

I guess nobody wants a usable and cheap EBC. Believe me its a hassle to adjust a MBC on the fly. You have to stop the car and open the hood, adjust and then test. With the BoostMonkey all the adjustments can be made inside the car while driving.

this forums dead, but anyways. If you run the boost controler into the cab of your car, it works just fine, a buddy of mine has an SRT-4 and did it, plus a manual boost controler wont read foul codes that would lead the dealership to believe you were playing around with the boost control.

I had a Home Depot special on my 89 Colt Gt, and it worked fine, up until the spring got weak. It started spiking like a mofo. I then replaced it with a TurboXS mbc and it worked great.
