My understanding is that they are saying it is a "clear title" as in clear of a lien meaning they own the car. Not a "clean title". Further down in some of their ads they say "THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH AN OREGON RECONSTRUCTED TITLE DUE TO AN INSURANCE LOSS OF AN ACCIDENT."

Technically correct but very misleading and very shady.

I just bought my 2011 Sti from them and I'm very pleased with my experience. The car has a rebuilt title but it looks, feels, and drives great. The whole process at the dealership went smooth as well, I would recommend them.

I almost bought a car that had the title washed. "Clean title" according to the state, but the carfax brought up a previously branded title.

If its a CLEAR title that means it is CLEAR of brands. If there was a lein on the car, they would 1.) not have possession of the vehicle and 2.) not be listing it for sale.

The reasonable implication of "clear title" means that it has a "clean" title. Its misleading and deceptive advertising, and if that IS the case - it may violate certain advertising laws.

I'll never understand why this thread continues. They buy wrecked cars and sell them at market price. They swap engines and odometers around so you never know how many miles are on any part of the vehicle. I have examples of blatant lies on why the car has a "reconstructed title". Side impact damage seems to be the most common lie. Some people have got lucky and their car has not blown up. WHO CARES IF YOU GOT LUCKY. The fact remains they are shady and lie about what they sell.

My neighbor bought his STI from this place and a month into owning the vehicle the motor blew, apparently he was lucky enough to have the warranty (no longer offered) on his vehicle and got it rebuilt for about 600 bucks after warranty deduction or something. Im new to the area so I had no idea what the place was all about, but it definitely makes me want to help him out and look a little bit more into the 'history' of his car. Doing my normal inspecting of his car as I like to do even with my own I noticed a couple weird things here and there...but I would need to look further now that I am more aware to see if it is a shortcut or just a coincidence.

Overall the concept of a dealership being successful at something like this puzzles me, I'm pretty much at a loss of words here.
