Default drumming up interest: 1989 Justy, fwd, Red, ECVT tranny

Its in great shape, aside from a blown transmission. I am going to replace the transmission and sell it on here.

I bought it from a mechanic in Ellensburg. He said the engine was a JDM pull with roughly 30k on it, and about 140k (can't really remember) on the car itself. He says the transmission is out and it is stuck in low. I haven't fired it up but it is in good shape. The tires were put on like 3 years ago but not driven on. They have almost no mileage on them. The interior is in good shape with a few scratches here and there but overall good shape.

Heres a pic

Make me an offer.

2 different options:

No engine/tranny as a FULL nice complete car minus engine/tranny

Running and operating as ECVT

You're going to swap that thing out to a 5spd right? Those ECVT trannys did that like clockwork, extremely expensive to replace also. Going with a used wrecking yard ECVT would not be a good idea. I know someone who went through 3 trannys in 70,000 miles. Hers was AWD and I don't know how well she treated it but she was an older lady and just drove it to work and back. I dont see how she could have done anything too bad to it.
Looks decent for the year though and once fixed, who wouldn't like getting around 40mpg.

A 5spd swap? No, just get the pedal box, transmission, clutch cable and change it out. It would be about half the price of replacing with another ECVT. Have you seen the prices on those, if you can find them?
I don't think there is much else you can swap into it motor wise. Maybe the 4cyl Suzuki Swift GTI motor, that would be pretty cool.

Wow. I didn't think that would ever fit in there. I think that is faster than a Justy should ever go though. I would hate to see how much time was put into that thing, or at least how much time should be put into making that thing.
So is that a bench mark now? Are you going to build something better? How about building a firewall behind the front seats, and making it an STI powered mid engine rear drive drift Justy.
Or you could just replace the transmission and sell it. It's your call I guess.
Seriously though yours does look pretty clean for the year.
