Default Accessport V1 Trade In Question(s)

Hey all,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread or not. Please move if needed.

My question is I have an '02 WRX Sedan with a Cobb AP V1 installed along with Street Tuner software/key fob. I recently heard that Cobb is offering a trade in deal for the Cobb AP V1 to the Cobb AP V2 with a slight discount applied.

Here's my question:
If I unmarry my Cobb AP V1 to send back in to Cobb, will that reset my ECU back to a stock OEM map, rendering my modded car unsafe to drive? Or when I unmarry the Cobb V1 will my ECU retain its custom map?

I just don't want to be stuck sitting around waiting for the V2 to show up.
Also... can I even transfer my custom tuned map from the V1 to the V2??

Thanks for your input all!

Give them a call or email.

What I did with mine, was send in my v1 still married to my ECU and when the v2 came it was able to reflash over the original v1.

As far as your map goes, you'll either have to retune it, or have some one convert the map for you.

If you uninstall the v1 it will return your car to the stock calibration. But, you can just send us the v1, still married to your car and we will send you a v2 with the rebate.

With the current version of AccessTUNER Race, you can translate your v1 Street Tuner calibration to be v2 AccessPORT compatible. To do this, save your street tuner calibration on a laptop and then open with ATR, resave/reconfigure the map and then flash that on the with the v2 AccessPORT.
