Post Well it's been fun SCIC.........

WOW that's all I can say as far as how this has come from the first "Unofficial-official" SCIC meet back in August 1999 at the Q. Kartboy, Leo (Chung) and friend and myself were out to participate in the autoX fun.
Then there was the first Timmons Meet again with Leo, His friend, myself and TMR Impreza the first Turbo RS and a suprise visit by then unknown Byron who offered for us to see his car with the engine out as he was starting the internal work on it.
After that there was plenty of autoX fun as well as more Timmons meets "Hooters anyone???".
The first LA auto show where the STX made it's debut and we all enjoyed that "great" Holiday Inn breakfast Bleeeeecch...
Of course who can forget the infamous N vs S meet where the state of California waged battle on the autoX course. With our very own Kartboy regining supreme with his N/A 2.5 (non-tec at the time) over Shiv and the SCC beast and Arik "tyrmelter" Kadosh and the "Subarocket" on street tires. The race was so close that it came down to hundredth's of a second.
Then plenty more autoXes along with a meet where Mike Shields proved to most all that it's not about the size of the engine it's the driver and set-up as he spanked most all of us at the Q.
ISR had a very GRAND Re-opening where more than 30 of us showed to talk car and meet others in the area and find other subie fanatics to go on canyon runs with or to the local auto-X.
And then there was the bigger than big the overly HUMONGOUS PCH run interclub meet involving more than 150+ import and domestic cars on a run up the PCH to Vortech Superchargers. Much thanks to all who contributed to this Tim (Rubr_Duky), Fusion (there is always the next one for T-shirts), and others from Club Unison (Celica) and Club Si as there are almost too many to list along with Trevor at Vortech. Hopefully next time we will have more to do after we get there.
Then the SEMA show that was interesting to go to with only an hour of sleep with 2.2L intakes ablazing up the Nevada hills Right TMR ...
The LA Auto show thanks to Phil Pausmer of SOA for the free tickets to drool over the new WRX meet Paul Eklund and Lee Shadbolt (at least see his car) and enjoy the show with over 20 subaru fanatics.
I wish I could have made it to the track event with the Celica club that some members attended but couldn't as I am still subieless waiting for my tranny woes to be solved thanks to Pam and Ed of ISR and Arik (Tyrmelter) of Renner Tuning.

The reason why I am posting this is I am preparing to leave back to Northern California (Sacramento/ San Francisco Area). I hope to catch some of you all when I visit as I really had a great time meeting and becoming friends with all of you. Just remember to keep together and show all the new people to the area that the Subaru Crowd is where it's at here in So. Cali.
Rich

In green as a reminder to all of that darn 2.2L auto and what it could do....

And don't forget the smilie wars....

The IRON FIST returns...

Forgot the LA auto show...

Well Rich,
It's a pity I NEVER got to see that Green meanie run!! I haven't been here very long, but you were one of the first Suby guys to welcome me to SoCal and you really made me feel at home real quick! Coz Kartboy didn't help to much by beating me!!
You WILL be missed Bro! But you know whenever you feel the need to return.....

Speaking for us Northerners: Welcome to the Bay Area! As you know, we've got some great backroads up here, and not so much commuter traffic. Plus, I make the drive down to Southern Cal a couple of times a month, and thoroughly enjoy those hours driving my Subie and groovin' to my CDs. It is entirely possible to have a successful business spanning the entire state, that is, if you love to drive! Let me know if you want to do some group-drives up in Sonoma County. vk.

Hi Rich, All the best. Thanks for your help with the L.A. Auto Show this year. Your leavin when things are going to pick up down here. The Rim should be a blast this year. I've got the San Berdo Sheriffs facility booked for Sept. Getting CRS / SCCA rally instructors (6 or 8), 400' x 200' polished concrete, wet skid pad AND the city street grid booked already. Subarus only. Who would be a good contact with the I Club for some coordination / consulting / go-to guy etc?
All the best and success. Phil

I guess you run with any car club long enough, and sooner or later someone will leave... Wow.

You've been a fixture, man. Take it to 'em at the bay area. If you ever decide that nice weather, decent Mexican food, and lousy Asian food works out a little better for you than crappy weather, lousy Mexican food, and decent Asian food, just come on back!

Cheers.

Thanks again to all.

Phil I can still do my best to help out in what ever ways I can as I consider this my second home. I know there are a few that will be good contacts to help in drumming up support for the events from the SD, OC and LA area's.

Incase I ever want to come back to Southern CA I know I'm welcome and will glady.

I'm hoping to have a meet/farewell before I leave and I definetly want to attend the wet skid pad in September.

Well I was hoping to have the first overly built automatic/turbo in a street car but cost came into play and now I am doing a manual conversion with plenty of upgraded parts thanks to Kartboy, ISR, and Arik (Tyrmelter) of Renner Tuning. I will wait till I adjust to driving a manual before I boost (should be fun).

I hope to be around when ISR has their meet if not maybe I will strong arm Pam and Ed into moving it up LOL .
