Default my exhaust is ricey :( UPDATED: Not Anymore!

Got some fresh snow and this is the first time I have ever tried to drift a car in it. Kinda looks like I am just driving in circles but I am sliding the entire time. My exhaust sounds like poo

Its a catless 3 inch invidia bellmouth DP to stock mid pipe to an STi axleback. It sounds gross but I don't have enough money for a nice name brand cat back. My thoughts are either buy an ebay axleback or custom bend a straight pipe from the axle back (size?)

All suggestions would be helpful

^^^ haha ditch the HID's in halogen housings dude!

You're half way there on the exhaust. I wish I had forked over the extra few hundred bucks for a quality cat back. I have the SRS N1 style that you see on ebay for around $250. It's loud but not gross.

You are tuned for a catless downpipe, right?

Haha I know the whole deal about HIDs in halogen housings, I didnt do it I promise! I just have to go buy some bulbs. Honestly I am thinking of just putting a straight pipe on it from the axle back until I can afford a nice muffler.

Yep I have a V2 accessport tuned for 93 octane stage 2.

Really? I have seen some videos on youtube of 2 liter wrxs with straight pipes that sound pretty nice in my opinion. Eh, I guess I'll look around.

Guys I will go to the stealership tomorrow and try to get some bulbs for free

Straight pipes are sometimes good... other times it either sounds like a diesel, or like ass.

Haha yeah I know it sounds horrible guys, I am in the process of making this car clean. It was pretty crappily thrown together when I bought it.

Since I have the partslaying to make myself a straight pipe, that is what I will do first. I'm thinking 3 inch. It will only be from the axle back and if it sounds terrible, oh well, hardly any money invested. If I don't like the sound I will then buy a reall muffler haha. I should have the pipe on this week so I will keep this thread updated.

Teaser! Just bent up a 2.5 inch pipe. Sound clips will be here on sunday most likely.

Yes, I know the car is filthy. It's winter, snows every single day where I live, and salt is everywhere.

well i hope it sounds good. i have no doubt it sounds better, but i would be surprised if it has a nice deep burble the way most subaru guys like it to sound. probably made everything louder and less tonal, which(unless the last muffler had some weird acoustic slapping noise) isn't necessarily a good thing judging from the first video.

and honestly i just don't like how loud they are. but like you say, little invested, and not much lost if you get a nicer exhaust later.

Exactly, if I dont like it that much, not much money at all was put into to is so no big deal. It is ridiculously loud but I kind of like it. Im not too worried about what other people think though, a few people saying that it doesn't sound like the deep Subaru rumble won't discourage me from keeping what I like.

I really didnt like the old exhaust so this is 10000 times better
