Personally, not my cup of tea but gratz on closing in on your goals for the car. What kind of power is it putting down with that snail or did you mod it just for show?

It looks like a lot of money has been thrown at it, but not like there is much attention to detail or anything other than the same old bolt ons... The color is pretty cool though.

where does the the dirty ghetto kid/s part come into play? I reject your "style", (i know lil steve, so shots go out to him) but, I will always associate visions of your wrx conglomeration for visions of toys with spray paint who believe they can write, freestyle, skate, or break. Your **** is wack how the **** did you get a deal. I see alot of hustle in your work but no flow.

Enjoying the build, I like watching the different stages the car goes through, really gives you an idea of how much you can personalize cars. Oh, and i don't care where you got the money, you're using it for something awesome rather than spending it at the bar or on drugs. Thats a sign you actually have something going on up there! hahah good luck on the build man cant wait to see the final product.

Super Sick! I'M IN LOVE! Where did you purchase the Varis kit?

The only thing missing on that car is a AMS CF Roof and Ganador Mirrors.

That's what I forgot to do! I have to scan the graphs from my break in tune. On my very conservative break in tune, she made 283whp / 257lbs torque, which was off wastegate pressure. I currently have about 400 miles on the setup, and once I hit 1500mi, we'll do the real tune.

There actually is imo, but what's your def of attention to detail? My rotated turbo kit had to be made, and what doesn't flow well in your opinion?

Cute name drop and the name DGK was kind of tossed on me by a bunch of people I know who just started calling me that because that used to be all I wore. I don't really go by that anymore. Anyway, I don't dress myself or build cars for you, so your attention to detail and self-conceptualization of me being some hipster who attempts to be something he's not entertains me. If you'd like to have a structured conversation, I'm down.

+1 Your sincere appreciation for what I'm doing and constructive way of going about it is much appreciated on my part. I'm glad you can enjoy it, and I look forward to having a final product shortly.

I have a bag of sweet ass powder to powder coat them, but I kind of liked the "raw" look. Any other opinions on them? I'll post pics of the powder applied on some other intercooler pipes I have.

I'll be throwing those mirrors on actually, and I'm iffy on the whole roof thing. It would look nice though, imho. You can source out the Varis kit from Kami Speed who is a vendor here. They can get you whatever you may want.

It's old and everyone just calls me Manny nowadays. What alot of people may fail to realize is that throughout the time that my car was down, that I have self-admittedly claimed to have been arrogant, cocky, and a prick @ times. I was around the age of 21 when I first got the car and have learned so much, not only from this community, but from the entire "scene." But something that I've learned from all of this is not only to be humble, but that you can also not please everybody. I'm about to be 25 and my priorities almost 4 years down the road are much different than they were then. I apologize to anyone who I may have offended in the past, but some of the ridiculous hatred, jealousy, and nonsense is just getting old. It's sad that the amount of sacrifice, stress, and work by myself & others is jeopardized, because I have to worry about someone vandalizing my car because they think it's tacky, they hate it, I should have done this mod instead, etc... I knew going into this that some people already hated the car & myself, which may have an influence on some judgement / critiquing. I could care less. I'm pretty much at the final stages of a personal goal and if people hate it, that's fine, but realistically, why waste the energy to hate. I love my car and I wish everyone the greatest success on their builds and hopefully they all get their car to be where they'd like it to be. Sorry for going off on a rant, but it gets old. I have nothing to prove to anyone, nor do I need anyone else's approval to do what I do. There are things going on in this world much bigger than cars, but sometimes we may lack the foresight to even know that it's happening. I know I did.

Overall I think its a nice build, but for the life of me I cannot understand why you picked that color? Not trying to hate, its just that when I see it it makes me think of Christmas just a little too much. Are you second guessing the color choice at all? And like I said, I'm not trying to knock you at all, the car is well done all around as far as I'm concerned even the brakes are ok by me (400+whp car owner myself running 4/2 pots) Just wanted a bit of insight on the color choice...for reference I painted mine Toyota voodoo blue and sometimes I hate it, other times I love it...

Your car has came a long way.....between you and a few others I really have my work cut out for me making one of the most bad ass STI ever built.

About mid last year I nearly gave up on my build and sold my Varis kit and my STI but now is a different story.

I look forward to one day maybe even getting the chance to show against you or even trade stories about our builds. I for one know the pains that come from such a extensive build.

As for the few that don't like the color, ask yourself this "how many people are on NASIOC"? Thousands?? And only 10 or so have made a fuss over the car?? I'd say your odds of people that like the car far out weigh those who don't. I personal would never do it that color...but to paint something that color takes some real balls and i give you props for that.

Love the distance you came and what hard work you have put in. Great job. PM me sometime ....we can chat.

Lol, understandable. How about dyno #'s? She should be tuned very shortly once a few fueling kinks are worked out.

Sincerely, thank you. I've always felt that one's car / build should be a reflection of themselves and not what they think other's would think is "dope" or "sick." For every trend follower, there's a civic with a set of altezza tails somewhere from the 90's. Locally @ least, I've seen people come and go, because they start building their cars for all the wrong reasons, :-/.

Hey Trey,

I guess I was slightly inspired after reading one of my Super Street mags and I stumbled upon the Tamon Auto Design S2000. Originally my finish was going to be in the BASF satin finish, but changed my mind after spraying a panel and becoming concerned with maintenance. I don't second guess my color choice at all and have fallen more in love with it, but I'd be a liar if I said that there aren't times that I don't miss her being black. However, life's all about adapting to change, so it's no biggie. I will eventually be going with a BBK, but it's nothing I'm completely stressing about until after I get dynoed / tuned. Any pics of your car? Your color sounds sick!

Thanks, I have been pondering with throwing a more aggressive wheel on her; maybe some Wedsports in 18x11 and throwing more rubber on her as well to make her a tad bit more functional. I also appreciate you being constructive and I've learned a lot of lessons with this build.

Damn man! I haven't heard / seen you on the forums since waaaayyy back on IWSTI I believe and to be completely honest, your bluntness is part of the reason I said *** it and went all out. Harsh inspiration and I'm sorry about the direction your build went, but hope to see what you've got up your sleeve! Hit me up sometime and I wouldn't mind chatting @ all. Thanks for the support too and hope to see you back in the scene / hopefully @ a show soon.

Thanks VTRex, but the filter is always on while driving, I just took it off for aesthetic purposes while parked @ the show. Since I never trailer her and drive her to shows, I need to make sure I've got one seeing how random and spastic thunderstorms are quite common in FL.

I like to think of it as being obnoxiously clean, lol. It's not for everyone, but I love it and I'm glad you've enjoyed the build thus far.

So it's been a while since I've updated this thread and think I've mixed some of my other ones up, so I'm going to try to stick to this one. Anywho, here are some updates from the last I've posted in here.

For those who don't know, I am a proud member of Team V2Lab and this picture was shot by Ravi Angard from V2Lab:

It was nice enough for Varis to actually feature it on their main Facebook account, which was extremely flattering:

I ended up attending Sibling Rivalry 7 with the rest of my team. Here are a few pics from that:

Default Mystery Meat

On Easter Sunday, V2Lab threw their Mystery Meat in Downtown Orlando which attracted 10,000 people and around 4,500 cars. I was able to meet a few fellow Subie owners and a bunch of enthusiasts from all over. It was an amazing event and a great experience. Here are some pics from the event:

Early in the morning when we first got there.

Beatrix made friends with this sick Evo that day:
