Default Initial v2 AP Flash Question

So, when first marrying the AP to the car and AFTER saving the current ECU map, is there ANY way to continue using the current map, or do you HAVE to load another map from the AP? Everything I've found suggests you can't continue to use your current map, and I've searched everywhere. The only reason I ask is that this '02 WRX I just bought has a ton of quality mods (which I'll list if needed, but figured it wasn't really needed), and is currently running essentially a road tune by a reputable tech which is running pretty solid. However, I'm gonna take it in for professional tune as soon as I can and want to get the AP married beforehand to be able to datalog if requested, etc., but there aren't any Cobb maps that are close enough for comfort for me to run between marrying/protune time. I do have a wideband o2 to help monitor stuff, but still. If the answer is no, I guess I'll just marry it at the tuning session. Long-winded I know , but I'd appreciate even a simple yes/no answer. Thanks ahead of time guys.

So it has a open source tune right now? If so then once you marry the AP to the ECU you will only be able to use the maps on the AP. The ap saves the map currently loaded on the ECU but i believe you cant use that map until you unmarry the AP and revert back to the map you AP backed up for you. What mods are you running?

Nah, I'm almost positive they did the road tune with another AP, though I totally forgot to ask, so I think I'll email him later and ask. On the AP, I was afraid you'd say that, but thanks. As for mods, here goes a quick list of engine stuff: '08 STi VF48, 880cc injectors, uppipe, catless downpipe, CBE, BIG-ASS FMIC, short ram intake (all by Perrin), and lots of other non-engine goodies. So not necessarily anything that hasn't been done before, but fairly far away from any of the downloadable Cobb maps. I'm surprised to see someone else in Maple Valley, though.

If they used another AP and did not give it to you when you purchased the vehicle that AP is useless. Unless they pay 450 bux to have it relicensed by cobb. If it is currently tuned than chanced are it is Opensource, or like i said they wasted that AP because it reverts you ecu to stock after you unmarry. If your car is running properly right now i would wait to marry the AP until you take it in to be tuned. Yea i live over off 280th, 2 stop lights outside of four corners. There are actually several others, but no one puts their exact location down.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I think they're tight with Cobb, so it might not be so much for them to fix something like that. Yeah, I'm more towards Tahoma M.S., but we wouldn't want big brother knowing our whereabouts, now would we?
