Default 2010 Sti Special Edition Aspen White

So I went to the dealership yesterday after work to tell my buddy who goes to the acution to keep an eye out for an 08+ sti for me. When low and behold they had one of the 125 aspen white special editions in the show room. But there was something different about this one. SPT was all over it! I was wondering if this one was even more rare because I didn't think these came with the SPT exhaust. I think it was an option. I almost dropped coin on it, but i could not drive this thing every day on our salty crappy roads for such a rare car. and they had it priced over sticker at 35,625 and my budget is only around 28. Sooooo if you are looking for RARE and one of these 125 in aspen white this one may be 1 of 30 that came with the SPT package.

If all of the SPT stuff was billed after the original window sticker, then more than likely the dealership installed the parts.

I've not seen a subaru dealer do this, but I've seen plenty of other brands offer "special edition" cars that come outfitted with aftermarket products already installed.

It came from the factory with the SPT. Cuz everything was on the sticker. And I'm pretty sure they had to order it from the factory with that option. Here is the subaru site for the car and they mention nothing about the SPT and there is no SPT badging on the one pictured. I'm still thinking 1 of 30ish

yeah i don't get it!!! upgraded suspension and sway bars and rims... they took out the HID's, Auto climate control, 6 disk changer, and turn signal mirrors. Somehow idk how better suspension, rims, and sways. Then minus all that other stuff works out to being 6 grand less on the sticker price on a normal one?!?! I can't see the auto climate control costing subaru 3 grand... maybe they are just screwing us with mark up on the normal ones? hmmm

lets see, get the car 6k less: check

find a totaled 09 sti: check

pull out the hid hardware, climate control hardware, and turn signal mirrors if you really want: check

buy and aftermarket head unit: check

turbo swap, fmic, supporting mods and tune: check

if you do it right youre looking at the same price tag for a way better car.
leave the six disk changer on the ground

That's exactly how I viewed it before ordering mine. Is it anything special? no, not at all. Is it cheaper? yes. The only negative downgrade to me was not having HIDs. Will I be able to get HIDs from a totaled STI some day, most likely and in the end it will still be quite a bit cheaper.

I also dont like automatic climate control, i dont like the reg. STIs wheels, i could care less about turn signals on my mirrors and Im replacing the speakers/head unit no matter what model I got. I could care less about the suspension too, ill be upgrading that, even if it is "spec c."

The main purpose of the SE for me was just to get the STI as cheaply as possible since i'll be replacing most of the parts anyway. It shouldnt be blown out of proportion because it's a "special" edition but more of a way to save a few bucks on the initial investment.

In the end I saved well over 2k to have nicer stock wheels and no HIDs.

$33,206 out the door for the SE (as well as fog lights and rear bumper cover) after a $500 ordering deposit (taxes/titling/etc.included in that price).

Default 2010 sti special ed.?

sold my wrx, looking for an sti. Found a 2010 with high miles (60,000) in my budget at an audi dealer. I realized its a special edition after checking out the old school heater knob. I noticed on the test drive there was no mpg meter next to the clock, but haven't seen that mentioned anywhere on here. Does the special edition 10 sti not want us to know her miles per gallon?

You revived a 3 year old thread over this?

Was it on it's odometer? Or on it's trip? The MPG average gauge doesn't show when it's on the odometer.
