Default wtb : carb legal intake for 07 wrx & VF series turbo

Like the title says looking to buy a CARB Legal intake with CARB Sticker for an 2007 WRX 2.5L. The carb sticker needs to match the make and model, and preferably a short ram intake, let me know thanks. Also looking for a VF series turbo preferably a VF22, VF39, VF43, VF48 has to be in good condition, with NO shaft play, no LEAKS, thanks again.

^ Best choice. If no CARB sticker, just call SOA. Some early version don't have it. The sticker actually says subaru and has the number.

I've got an AEM CAI with CARB sticker, not sure what model years it's CARBed for (CARB #D392-18 21-471 if you want to look it up), the CARB sticker is not that specific it doesn't list model years, but it has a CARB sticker and that's all that counts for cops. I'll let it go for $75.

Hi, I'd suggest the AEM 21-477. It is designed specifically for our cars. (I own a 07STi)

I'd advise against the Injen. I went with a SP1202WR for the wrinkle red finish. I was running the stock tune and it ran considerably worse. Hiccups and real rough. To Evilchargerfan, no offence, just my personal experience, and it might also be due to my 07's tune, which is documented heavily as being horrible.

Anyway, I suggest the AEM, as I like it the best and have been running it exclusively since I bought it. To give some weight to my opinion, here is what I've run on my car so far:

Injen CAI SP1202WR - rough running and reported as hard to tune by subiesport and specifically HarmanMotive, who incidentally sells their own intake which looks EXACTLY like the AEM 21-477

ARC induction box - Very jdm bling. but gave me a CEL on two occasions, possibly from the stock tune, nice sound though.

K&N 69-8001TWR - Very nicely made, but bogged A LOT in stop and go traffic. I think it has to do with the heat shield design. The filter has a carbon fiber cap which is cool, but requires oil which is not. Nice sound.

APS CAI - Very difficult install. The stock intake hole on my 07 (and I would suspect your 06) is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than this thing. I've looked at other imprezas and the hole is bigger on the 02-05. You have to reuse the stock afta maf pipe or something like the zerosports pipe (which I did). Nice sound but also threw a cel.

AEM 21-474 - This intake will physically fit in our cars, but puts the filter at a weird angle. No cels, ran well, and I sold it to a coworker when I bought:

AEM 21-477 - The best in my opinion from what I have run. Has a MASSIVE 8 inch filter that is a dryflow, meaning no oil is necessary and you just use simple green to clean it. I was protuned with this and my tuner said it was very easy to tune. (HarmonMotive said the same thing in their test in Subiesport) Nice sound

In regards to your bad experience with water:

I accidentally drove through Lake San Leandro (The Lucks on Hesperian) I didn't notice that the parking lot was reflecting a lot more light than normal and was actually flooded. I coasted through it and immediately pulled over to check the filter. I have a RS blocker plate installed, so I removed that which gives access to the filter, which as dry.

Pm me if you want.

-Peter

For what it's worth, COBB SF intakes are CARB legal, FYI: http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=4675
