Thank you, I've upgraded to a larger turbo and what not since but still think stock sti turbo and a good ewg setup is the best for a street car.

Before I did my build I was running 370awhp / 410awtq on completely stock longblock, 20psi and e-85. Only real mods I had where 850cc inj., Wally 255, FMIC, and AEM v2.

Drag strip 1/4 was 12.1xxish (it's been a while) also the only 1/4 track in so-cal closed to the public.

AAA speedway roval not sure on time but hit 150ish on the oval (also been a while)
Streets of willow ccw 140ish on front straight just before the brake box.

Also looking forward to a Texas mile run in the near future.

I would use rubber bushings where you mounted the ic to the rad support. Even if you have solid motor mounts eventually the vibration will tear those free.

What does motor mounts have to do with the intercooler? That's not the only place it's mounted as well.

Because of the clamps that you have used, the ic is now solidly connected to the turbo and throttle body. So when the motor moves, the pipes move, and if the ic has no play to move, it will find a way to move.

Those clamps aren't solid, They have plenty of movement.

Are you going to run an AOS or Breather Can. Anxious to see your setup with the welded AN-12 on the intake.

I just ordered a TIGWERKS oil drain fitting. I can't wait to start welding everything up!

Started life as a Perrin 3076 kit and ended up like this years later.

I'm going to make up an AOS setup with a -12 on top which will route to the intake. I'm moving to Texas this weekend and the car will be left behind here in California since its not 100% and its too stressful trying to bring everything with me in one go. I've been making a slight effort trying to sell it before I leave because once I leave I probably won't want to come back and get it. It's been sitting for so long I don't have much attachment to it anymore.

Just started working on my twinscroll motor. Has anyone done a rotated manifold and kept the A/C? Its pretty tight quarters for the throttle body to the alternator, id imagine itd be the same on the hood. I know ECS built a car that was rotated with AC but i dont recall how they ran the pipe over the alt...

Anyways...

First, sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. But wanted to ask you guys of what you think of this heat shield. Is it bad to cover up the center cartridge of the air cooled precision turbo? Should i had a heat chimney?:
