Default any local link tuners?

I was wondering if we have any local link tuners in the area... Im trying to do a turboed eg33 in a 2002 wrx chassis, but I cant really think off the top of my head on who locally can tune the thing. I dont really have a problem flying a tuner in but if I dont have too I wont.

I could ask my friend
You looking for open source?
Also your budget? Location?

I am not too sure what you mean by open source? Im in manassas va.... I dont really have a budget and I dont think it needs to be done any time soon since I got so much more work to do.. but I want to get a reputable tuner to set it up to run and I really want to get either a guy that specializes in link's or a guy that specializes in tuning eg33 or ez30s. I have spend too much cash already to get it done the wrong way.

Link is a full standalone ecu.... a little more complex than accessport... you start from scratch

Spend the money to get a good standalone.

Is link not a good standalone? during the purchase... Hydra has 0 cars running an eg33, Aem would not touch it, Cobb.... no way... it left me with outsourcing from over sees, I had only a handful of choices. Link already had multiple cars running eg33s. Could you please explain what a good vs. bad standalone is? autronic... Im sure I would have better choices with autronic.... I didnt make the thread to discuss standalones, that belongs in the other engine management section. I only created this thread so I could see if I could get a local tuner rather than get someone from pdx tuning flown in here. Jard, I think your response was tastless, but reguardless you can close this thread obvious if a Moderator is going off topic their must be none available. Thank you guys You can delete now

Don't be so upset...

Link isn't exactly a widespread standalone. They're newer stuff is quite capable, but generally tuned by someone on staff from what I've heard with Subarus, if they're even used.

For what you are trying to do there isn't exactly a lot of support... Hence why you are running a standalone. Hopefully there IS a solution out there... but I promise you it won't be as simple as plug and play, base map included ECU.

Does it come with a tuning software package? Assuming you have the software and a laptop that connects up to the ECU, I can tune it. I haven't used Link before, but I've tuned many other systems, and after a while they're all the same. It would be $200/hour for tuning, including dyno rental and air/fuel analysis. I'd budget at least $1000 for the tuning...

That's why it's not a good standalone, it's not widely in use in the US.

Who from Hydra said they wouldn't touch it, who from AEM? Did Link have a plug and play harness for what you are doing and the others didn't?

Im not upset, I was just not expecting such a terrible response from a mod... esp. a local one, Hydra said they would touch it, but they have 0 running right now. I dont wanna be a guinea pig. As for AEM I have no idea who I talked to but they also said no one is running this setup. Dan, thank you for the invite but I am really trying to stick to someone that has done it before. No one has a plug and play harness for an eg33 to wrx conversion but that is in process of being made as we speak. This isnt my first go around, but with tuning a link it is. Everything I have done this car is custom...Jard, you could have said that is why you think it isnt a good standalone........

Dude.

Dude.

You're a guinea pig. No ifs ands or buts about it. You are. This is what happens with such a custom project!

Sorry.

Good luck?

Sounds like you are gonna spend more time and money trying to use that. Wouldn't it be more cost efficient to go with something that people have better knowledge of?
