Cool STi Key Blanks, Emblem Size, etc...

Hey Everyone!! I'm the (soon to be) new owner of a WR Blue MY02 WRX Sedan. I've got a few questions I was wanting to ask...

1. I've seen STi Key Blanks available on the web at various sites. Will these Blanks fit the WRX?

2. I've also seen different Emblems you can get online, and I'm wondering: What is the size of the front emblem on the WRX? And, how easy/difficult is it to change out the original emblem with an aftermarket?

3. I thought I had seen a post here about how to de-badge the rear Decklid. Could anyone direct me to that post?

If anyone has these answers, I would greatly appreciate it.

My WR Blue WRX Sedan is on order, due for delivery on or about July 8, 2002. Already have a list of things I want to do to it. Tell me what you think...

GuitarEC

* De-Badge the "Subaru" off the Decklid
* Replace the Front Emblem with a Blue "i" emblem
* Add a blue "i" emblem to the Decklid oppisite the "WRX" badge (between the Keyhole and the edge)
* (Please don't flame me ) Silver Altezza Rear Lights
* WR Blue painted Morette Headlights
* (When Available) STi Hood Scoop

I figure that should keep me busy until I learn how to drive a powerful car like this (my soon-to-be- Ex-car is a '94 Ford Escort). After I'm comfortable with the stock set-up, then I'll start playing with the more serious Mods...

Thanks for your attention...

Let me do my best to answer your questions...

1. I've seen STi Key Blanks available on the web at various sites. Will these Blanks fit the WRX?
Yes, they are a bit pricey at around 40 dollars a pop, but they work.It is just an aesthitics thing with the STI key, you can have it cut to match your regular keys at the dealership.

2. I've also seen different Emblems you can get online, and I'm wondering: What is the size of the front emblem on the WRX? And, how easy/difficult is it to change out the original emblem with an aftermarket?Very easy to take the front emblem off, basically, you pry it off, a little heat from a hairdryer works, and a flat head screw driver..its only held on there by double stick tape..The heat helps the tape ease up, and it slides right off. You can get the blue i logo all over the place..of the top of my head, vividracing.com, or allover ebay you can bid for a set of two..

1) Yes, it will fit, assuming it is cut by a person with any skill with those machines. I will be getting one when I have the spare cash.

2) From what I hear, they are real easy to replace.

3) Imprezakid got it covered.

As for the rest:
- I like the SUBARU, leave it
- Yes, the 'i' emblem is cool
- Hmm... I don't know... the emblems are kinda bulgy, and being on a flat trunk might look funny. Play around with it and post up if you do it.
- Black chrome ones, I would say, look better
- Yes. Headlight upgrades, methinks, are a must. The stock ones just aren't bright enough (for me)
- Yes. STi hood scoop is nice and BIG. Get it for sure.
