Default Tire width

Hi Everyone

I tried to search for this but didn't find anything.

I have a 2005 STi and I am going to put on some new tires for a track day coming up. My current setup is below.

Wheel: OEM 17x8
Tire: 225/45/17
Suspension: Cusco Zero2R
Camber: FR, 2.5 degrees
RR, 1.5 degrees

What is the widest tire that I can fit on this setup? If there is any other information I need to post, please let me know

If you can help me out that is much appreciated

Thanks

Scott

i would run a 235 tire with a nice stiff sidewall or maybe even a 245 witha stiff sidewall. I run the stock rims as my track rims on an 07 sti and i feel like the 235s are perfect for that size rim..

235's feel puny to me.. step up to 245's at least on a 8 inch wide wheel.

haha, I'm runnin a lil stretched with 225s on a 8.5 but I also don't do anything race wise cause my car is slow, so I wouldn't have a clue what to tell you for your application.

I would say 40. I ran 245/45 NT01's on my STi and it was pretty pinched and did affect the gearing slightly. I assume youre talking about street tires though

Getting some great feedback....if I get a 245/40/17, will I need to make any modifications, i.e. fender roll or can I just mount them and be good to go?

Thanks

245/40-17 will fit in the front fine, rear will probably need a roll. really depends on the tire, as some 245s are wider than other 245s.

Thanks for everyone's feed back, I really appreciate it. I will go with the 245/40/17, mount them, test drive and see if I will need to do anything else.
