Default ?'s Opensource Tune &+AP + Unmarrying ?

Hey guys, i have a couple questions, my car has already been tuned but now i want an AP, but i think my ECU is locked! When i plug in the AP will it accept it and Read it?

My next question is my friend totaled his STI but still has his ECU and his AP, can i plug His ECU into my car (since theyre both 04's) plug in the AP unmarry it to that ECU, then plug in my ecu and marry it to mine?

2) yes, if your's is an sti. not sure if the plugs are the same for wrx and sti, you certainly can't use an sti AP for a 2.0 WRX.

1) Unless you have an ECUTEK tune then no your ecu should not be locked. But the you can not use your tune with the AP as the AP will overwrite the ECU with a built in map when you marry it to your car.
