The main thread about this suspention setup
Overall Ride Quality 1-10 (9.2) 1 being poor/bad. 10 being good/great. On the freeway, (well at least the 5 and 2 frwys south bound to the 110 frwy) where there are a lot of bad spots and rolling dips you will get frwy chop. But that is the only place I could make it occur. And at that it was only between 20 and 60 mph. Honestly this section is one of the worst area of freeways that I know of. Also under acceleration it seemed to disappear. Other than that the whole ride is amazing. It reacts when you need it to and doesn't when you don’t want it to. One great thing is that when you hit a corner at high speeds with a bump in it the car will bound nicely and sportingly and rebound gently and softly yet still retain it’s sporty appeal. Also my darling wife says that the chop is not noticeable at all. She even goes as far as saying that it is smoother and better than my SVT Focus suspension.

Ok, Ok. A little unfair here seeing that I have a Tanabe Front Strut Tower Bar and a Under Chassis/H-brace to match. The Tanabe Parts cut flex in the front of my chassis as well as front shock flex. Thus seeming to reduce body roll. Then The RCE/GTWorks parts went on and went two steps further and actually did cut the body roll in half. Quoted From Myles, “The big thing here is the beta car has stock sways and stock tires. Nose dive has been alleviated. So has nose raising due to hard acceleration. Which I found to be very severe with the stock suspension. This is a huge factor for you auto cross and track guys. As it will help you shave a second or maybe seconds off of your time. More power to the wheels due to not having the Nose sway motion is what I am referring to here. I honestly swear (not just my butt dyno here and I will prove it) that my personal 0-60 ETA has improved. I will get into a stock 09 and do a 0-60 and record it. Then I will put those next to my times for comparison for all to see. At least shifting is smoother from gear to gear due to the lack of the swaying/sea-saw effect of the nose dive.
The spring rate is just great. It will work for you and with you. It will push you through the tuffest of corners and float you over what ever obstacles you cross along the way, all while still remaining Wife friendly and forget about the girlfriend because she wont even notice that you did anything different to your car.
The chassis is now close to balanced. The front and rear feel to be more closely tuned than from the factory. Before when you hit a bump you felt like the front handled it one way and the rear another way. Now both the front and rear handle everything equally like they are responding to each other. The car doesn't mind corner bumps or interchange connections.
Quoted from Myles, “Communicates when it should and keeps you isolated when you need not be jolted. The amount of droop travel that was retained is amazing and becomes apparent on the LARGE dips and bumps in and around Poway.” This is very noticeable, and should be a huge selling point. I feel that the droop is one of the main reasons that the ride is so comfortable. I believe Myles said that we gained some Bump Stop travel as well.

Sports Cars I have driven, AP1 S2K with really good high end coil over suspension. 2004 350Z stock. 1999 Corvette, unknown mods. The RCE/GTWorks suspension is better than all of these cars and makes our cars handle better then them all.
Sports cars I have ridden in, 02ish 911 Carrera, 93 Ferrari F355 (yes I had a rich f*** friend in high school,) 04 Z06 Vette, 09 M3, 06 M3. The RCE/GTWorks suspension is similar to the 911, the 06 M3 and better than the 04 Z06. Yes I said better than the 04 Z06. Why you ask? Well it’s a very easy answer. The Z06 is a very heavy dog, and is made for power through the track over finesse through the turns.
My personal Suspension and auto sports resume. I owned a 2004 Ford Focus ZX3 for 3 years. After a year and a half of owning the car I purchased brand new the SVT Focus suspension package. This consisted of Front shocks and springs. Rear shocks and springs as well as a rear sway bar. These made for a nice functional drop on the Focus. I also had a CAI, an exhaust and was pro tuned. Before I unfortunately was hit by a guy whom ran a red light totaling out my poor lil focus I had the opportunity to go to one track day and one autocross. At these event I learned a lot. I will say not enough and I was way too cocky for anyone to really teach my anything.
My over all thoughts on what has been DUBBED by some as the “COOL GUY KIT” is that this kit is amazing. It has several potential uses with the right springs, i.e.: Drag, Road, Track, Rallie, VIP, whatever you could imagine to use these Shocks and struts for, they WILL out perform your expectations. As the kit comes with the springs that are made for this kit I will say “This is how the car should have come,” famous words I know, but they were/are indeed true here. Everything about the kit has exceeded my expectations and blasted them into outer space. Boy am I glad that suspension, handling and brakes are more important to me than power. As I prefer to upgrade the parts that will make my car perform well with the added power, before adding power.
I do not regret for one moment giving my car up for one week, or paying Myles for this kit. I would do it again in an instant. I will also be insisting that one of my good friends buys the shocks and struts to go with his Pink Springs on his 08, if not the whole kit to replace his pink springs.
