Thanks. I won't be making it to the 1.5mi in Maine next weekend, given all the other life stuff going on. Maybe next year. I do hope to see good things from '1 fast EVO 2', though.

It was the AEM v1. -1820 DBW box.

Edit: Next on the mod list is engine management.

I have everything else to run to 175, with the exception of the flywheel shield. Don't see how one can be installed

you usually have to make them. I've had to make two in the past and they were a PITA.

Were you looking at running at Maxton (ECTA)? I have an idea of how I'm going to do mine. It's fairly easy with a plasma cutter (check) and a serious sheetmetal bender (not-checked)...torch, vise and hammer...substituted bender (check)

Since I don't have the cutter, bender, etc.. I've been stuck trying find something that will work

currently the car is 284whp, 307 wtq
going back to EFI logic for more work, looking for 360-380whp

Well if I can get a good bender locally, I might have them make up a few extras.

hmm... when i get my next car... the leggy may turn into a mile runner with a long rod motor & high speed gears... .

it would almost be like cheating with the difference between the drag coefficients.

An 05-09 LGT would be pretty much like cheating compared to my old 96 bubble

Small update: we had a rough weekend in May at Texas. Headwinds of 25mph with gusts to 40mph pretty much shut down personal bests for anyone Memorial Day weekend. Did a licensing pass for the new course in the morning at 184.0, and by the time we ran again the wind had kicked up to only squeak out 184.9mph. Hit some of those 40mph gusts along the way, and had some pucker moments. Sunday morning, the wind was already whipping at 9am, so we called it a weekend. Hope to have better weather in October.

Next up: headed for Mojave in October, and then TX 2 weeks later.

That's what I do. Mostly because it's close.

I haven't been to Maxton since the car was mostly stock. I'd be more concerned about it if the flywheel wasn't so far forward. I haven't checked into it in a while, but can you use some kind of ballistic blanket?

Thanks, the fastest 2L I recall in a mile was ~152-153, but that was with a vf30 IIRC. I could be wrong. It's been a while since I've seen anyone run a 2L. It's really just limited by the turbo, and how much air the motor can eat. As long as you can rev it to get the HP, that's all that matters. I've always wanted to try a 2L with a big rotated turbo, just to see what would happen.

Nice! I wish Loring wasn't at the end of the world. It's 2200mi one way for me. Good luck, and keep us updated.

Really enjoyed your thread, nice work!

I live in massachusetts and loring is to damn far for me!

Its WAY up there, but I hear the surface is epic, and the 1.5 mile run with 1 mile shutdown is pretty awesome.

No excuse there. I drive farther than that within TX to get to Beeville. If I lived in MA, I'd be at Loring every year.
