I don't think it's that great, but I will reserve my full judgement until when I see it in person

Everyone knows every STi wing isn't actually on an STi. So it will just be traded right away anyways.

I like the hatch. But I seem to be the minority.

It's ok and they are moving in the right direction...but the Evo still tops it in performance and, in my opinion, styling.

Prestige?

This is not a Porsche, son, this is a Japanese econobox that just so happens to have a powerhouse of an engine.

While I do think they're great cars (don't get me wrong here) I don't think there's anything prestigious about 'em.

I agree. My 2009 (which I love, btw) is a rattle-trap economy car with a nice engine and drivetrain. It's not a Ferrari or some crazy supercar. Prestige not found.

And no sir, I don't like the new STI sedan. I still like the hatch though.

Econobox yes. Prestige...not really. But those pink letters are held in very high regard in the performance car commmunity, and will hopefully remain the standard for the 'bang for your buck' class of cars.

But sadly, every year things get heavier and more expensive

The new WRX hatch seems like a good way to go to me. I want a faster steering rack and the six speed would be nice, but I probably can't justify the added expense.

Heavier and more expensive

Last I checked, things were getting lighter and cheaper, yet more expensive.

Things USED TO be made of metal, now everything's made of plastic, and yet costs 3x as much to the end consumer, even though its 3x as cheap for the manufacturer.

Drop springs, front lip, tint and wingless. That would be nice. Add in some meaty tires to complete the equation and any Subie lover would drool.

Wait...not sure what you are getting at. Cars are getting heavier as you add more safety, luxury, electronic bits on them. Hence why the newer generation STI's and EVO's are heavier. This is a trend. We want the navi and the sound deadening material. We want the 14 speakers. And we love those paddle shifters

Well, yes, but we also love the plastic door handles, millimeter thick roofs, plastic body panels, etc..

Even BMW's...they have plastic door handles on the inside that are painted with metallic chrome paint to make them look like metal

Prestige? When is owning a $35,000 car prestigious? The same price gets you a Honda Pilot or a Toyota Sienna.

Nicest looking? No Subaru, save for the last generation Legacy, could be even considered "nice looking." The GC's looked like exactly what they were, econoboxes with tacked on (fake) hoodvents and hoodscoops. The bugeyes looked like Neons, the '04-05's looked like Kia's (these were by far the ugliest Imprezas), the '06-07's looked like brand identity gone wrong, the the current ones look generic.

Do you even know why Subaru isn't in WRC anymore? The FIA banned boxer engines from competing in the WRC.

I think it will grow on me. The bugeye certainly did, I hated it when they got ride of the GC model style, but hey...I ended up owning one .

I think the new sti with the low spoiler like the 07 limited will look the best, that trunk is just too stumpy for a large spoiler like that.
