Impreza GC8 Gauging Interest: MY99 Impreza 2.5RS - 5-speed - Low Miles

Pictures added as promised

This is just for gauging interest. I am thinking about selling the RS, but it will probably be through Ebay.

Year
1999

Make and model
Subaru Impreza 2.5RS

Mileage
88,5xx

Transmission type
5-speed

Title status
Clear

Asking price
$7500

-----------------------------------------------------
History and Mods

The 2.5RS is a two-door. It has been modified in the past with very light mods, an axleback exhaust and a stereo. It is currently in stock form with the only modification being a CD player. There is a V5/V6 STI replica front lip that is brand new and still in the box it was delivered in that would go with the car.

The RS was my first Subaru, which began a chain effect of me owning two others, an '05 STI and an '02 WRX wagon. I sold the RS to my brother when I bought the STI so that I could keep it in the family and eventually buy it back when my brother was done with it. Well, he got a new car at the beginning of the year, and I reacquired the RS in February. As soon as I got it back I sent it to get a $2300 touch-up paint job, which almost turned into a full paint job, and it turned out really well.

Here's a list of flaws the RS has:

It's 10 years old so the body shows it, but it is seriously only very small door dings that can only be seen in the morning light, and I seriously only noticed them a couple of weeks ago.

The hood scoop does not match the white paint of the rest of the car. That's because while the car was getting painted, I bought a scoop from someone, and it was not as advertised. By the time the scoop arrived, the RS was out of the shop. So I painted it myself, and I do not claim to be a paint and body specialist.

The plastic trim piece above the windshield is chipped. I have no idea how that happened, but it was like that when I bought it back from my brother. It looks like something the Texas heat could be blamed for.

The clutch is beginning to slip. At least I'm pretty sure that is what's going on. I've never had a slipping clutch before.

The interior is just about perfect, but again, there are some signs of it being a 10 year old car. The passenger window could use some tightening up because it will have a little rattle when rolled all the way up, but I counter that with rolling it down what has to be like 2mm. I just tap the window switch down once really quickly and the rattling stops.

The switch panels on both doors are loose. The passenger one is not bad, but the driver's side panel has a broken clip.

The brakes squeal, but I attribute that to my brother either buying cheap pads or going to a shop that has no idea what kind of car the RS is. If you end up with one, you'll know what I mean. You'll even have to argue with some Subaru parts departments. "Yes, the 2.5RS came with a hood scoop from the factory."

It's been autocrossed once and on a very very small course.
That's it as far as any flaws. It may seem like a lot, but it's really small stuff. The clutch is the biggest problem, but other than that, the RS is a 10/10 mechanically. I'd say the exterior is an 8 or 9/10 and the interior an 8 or 9/10 as well.

Now on with a couple of pictures:

There are a lot more pictures in the Photobucket album:

Thanks for the bumps everybody!

I am only gauging interest in the RS right now because I don't know what to ask since it's a pretty rare, 10 year old car with less than 90,000 miles. That averages out to around 8,800 miles a year. That's why I'm most likely going the Ebay route.

And I don't want to sell the lip separately.

you really should... the reason i say that is because unless its installed on the car along with a host of other body/looks mods, the average ebayer isn't going to give a crap about a front lip... just some fyi

Ok, ok. I was just waiting until I could do some good research and get some pics, but I guess inquiring minds need to know. My asking price will be $7500.

Got some bad news. Can't find the title, but already contacted the bank I purchased the car from and they are sending me what I need to get a new one. I don't know how long the process is, so I am going to hold off on selling the RS until I have the title in my hand.
