i am soon getting a Ludespeed stage I, so i am going over everything 3 times a day to make sure i am ready to do this.
quick questions: -i know have a 2.25" cat-back, what should i do? i was thinking of getting the piping redone to 2.5 or 3" but i want to keep the rear section as it looks very stealth (important factor where i live) - that is going to sound very n00b, but i am gonna have to ask it anyway, can i, as a very patient guy, learn and tune my own fuel once i get the kit? i don't know much about cars, but i have found it pretty easy to find my way into cars engine with some common sense. i not really looking into serious performance, just something obvious to start with, something to learn about. The kit comes with a 2.5" downpipe, so I doubt your 2.25" exhaust will work very well. If the flanges mate up, there will be quite a bit of blockage for the exhaust gases passing from the downpipe to the midpipe. Ludespeed's website also says that the kit requires a 2.5" exhaust to perform as expected.
If you want to be able to adjust the fuel correctly, I would suggest getting either an air/fuel gauge or an exhaust gas temperature(EGT) gauge, and a fuel pressure gauge. The Cartech RRFPR has a few adjustments that you can use to tune depending on what your gauges are telling you. It's up to you to find out how much fuel you need at any given point, though. Charlie |

thanks for the answer Jon.
another Q if i ever run into problems tuning my fuel, is it doable to just "copy" the way another similar car with same kit and setup? or is that unsafe? |

should i find someone with a dyno to ba able to tune right somewhere in the middle ground of performance vs. safety? i am getting a J&S ultraguard, egt, fuel, boost. that is it for now, maybe a standalone in the long run.
i am bored with my car being NA, i never really have to do anything to it, i need something to work on to keep me occupied, i figured going FI should do it. ![]() |

Lucky you, you're in the NE so you should be able to find a 4WD Dyno.
You can't really tune with just a RRFPR, with the dyno, you can get it damn close, but not perfect. I'd recommend staying safe till you get the J&S and guages in, then strap it to the dyno for some real tuning. |
