Default 08-10 Impreza LED Converted Bumper Reflectors

So I make LED conversion kits as a part time job, and I had someone come to me with the idea of placing LEDS in the reflectors in the rear bumper of a 08-10 Impreza/WRX/STi. So I went to work and here's my result. I'll get pics on the actual car in a week or so:

What do ya think?

Cool idea and work, but I don't care for it. I prefer black.

subbing for pics on car. A lot of MS3s have done this mod but it always looked a little semi-ish with all the lights.

agreed, add a switch, call them fog lights and i would jump on them. offer either a single side (driver rear) or dual (both sides light up).

Looks great. I'm very against rear fogs though. 99.9999% of north americans have NO idea what front fogs are for, let alone rear ones. The first reflex will be to interpret them as brake lights. Saw another clueless old schmock driving at 4pm with his rear fogs on this weekend when it was merely cloudy, and he completely ignored my (polite)gestures...

and people opting to purchase a completely aftermarket rear fog light kit for their car are going to be clueless what a rear fog is for? i doubt he's going to approach subaru and put the kit on every car produced.

I've considered doing this as well, since losing a reverse light isn't ideal, and having a rear fog is crucial with the highway conditions all winter long here in seattle.

Would you be able to place more in that housing? Looks like it can fit a few more than just 10 LED's...

What type of LED's are you using?

^+1

it does look like it can handle more LED's than that, but might not need to depending on the brightness of the LED's.

I generally agree that most people don't need them, though some people will certainly find them useful.

its useful when you're out in super dense fog.. sometimes its hard to see normal tail lights during night hours in heavy fog and easier to spot rear fog lights cause they're low to the road surface where the fog doesn't float around .. or on some cars they're just brighter axillary lights to help the rear driver see that you're there in front of him

and this might be another reason why we need it... -.-;;
