Default Can someone help me repair my LG 22" lcd monitor?

I would have posted in off topic but that's a fairly useless area nowadays.

I got a 22" LG monitor from our defective bin back when Circuit City was closing shop. I also bought some other things that worked but this monitor doesn't. Well it does actually show the picture but there is no backlighting at all. I can shine a light at an angle and see the display slightly.
I disassembled it and there are lighting tubes that backlight the lcd screen so apparently that is the problem area but I don't know common problems with thes things. I tried searching for bad solder joints, burned components, heat stress etc but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any experience with these things? This monitor would be WAY better to use if I could get it working and I could retire my tiny compaq monitor and free up some space as well. Thanks for any help
